My teeny tiny niece has been born at 31 weeks weighing just 657 grams (1lb 4oz). She is in the NICU and is stable. Does anyone have any advice for how I can support my brother and sister in law? Thank you x

Also, my brother did give me permission to post on my Facebook account so that family members from afar could see her (he doesn't have FB) so I didn't see a problem with mumsnet but you're all correct that I should've checked first so sorry again. X

@bughug you sound lovely. Your brother, sil and dn are lucky to have you.

Bliss were also a good source of support when I had my 29 Weeker - they had a good forum, helpline etc.

Sending positive vibes to your niece & hoping for a short/boring NICU stay.

I agree, you sound like a lovely aunt! And your brother and SIL are lucky to have such supportive family.

I'm not sure anyone will see this but I thought I'd update you to say my teeny niece was discharged from hospital yesterday weighing 4lb 9! No long term problems identified and she is perfect. My brother and my sister in law are so happy as are the rest of the family. Thank you all for your advice, it really was invaluable at a time which was quite uncertain
