Hi everyone! I am 17 weeks pregnant (my first pregnancy) with DCDA (boy) twins. I had a LLETZ procedure about 2 years ago, meaning that I have had to have my cervix scanned for its length during my pregnancy. I had the first scan 2 weeks ago and it measured 28.1mm, and they said no further action was needed. I had the 2nd scan (2 weeks later) today, and it measured actually a little longer, at 28.9mm. As this is in the borderline range (the cut-off for normal is 25mm) and as I am pregnant with twins, they have offered me the option to start using Cyclogest progesterone pessaries. In general I am 'intervention-averse' and the side-effects don't sound very nice, plus I am a short person anyway (5 foot 2) so doesn't necessarily surprise me that my cervix is on the short end of normal.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience/thoughts on this and whether I should start using the pessaries, even though I am technically in the 'normal' range?

Thanks so much!

Congratulations! I have twins - I would say take the cyclogest - twin pregnancy puts a lot of strain on your body and I'd take any assistance you can, cervical lengths can shorten frighteningly quickly and you want to give yourself and your boys the best chance of getting to a viable gestation

I had to take cyclogest as I did a lot of IVF and didn't find the side effects that bad

I'd recommend joining some Facebook support groups for twins rather than this board - as this board is more for abortions/terminations than twin pregnancy advice x
