Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or can put my mind at ease.

8 weeks ago I had a medical abortion. 3 weeks later I had a negative test on the one provided by the clinic. 8 weeks since the MA and I've still not had a period, i had the depo contraceptive injection on the day of the MA. After feeling naseous and having light brown spotting i did a clear blue digital test which came back positive 1-2 weeks. Called the clinic and they explained the injection may be the cause of my delayed period however I should not be testing positive 8 weeks later and booked me in for a scan.

The scan showed no sac however the nurse said it could be a new pregnancy which completely threw me as I didn’t have sex for 1 month after the MA and i was under the impression that with the contraceptive injection i was protected. I have had some abdominal pain to the right of my belly button so they referred me for bloods to rule out eptopic.

The bloods came back as hcg 7 so the doctor said I’m not pregnant as the threshold is 25. But i am still worried that it could be an early pregnancy? Is it possible that my hcg levels are still dropping from the first pregnancy or am i the unluckiest person in the world and have i got pregnant again despite being on contraception and it’s too early to confirm pregnancy?

i have been absolutely sick with worry since the positive test and even though i have bloods to say negative I’m not entirely convinced as other articles would suggest this is a grey area and to get retested but the doctor was adament and didn’t see the need in me having bloods retaken.

Can anyone please give me an explanation or any similar experience as i am due to leave the country next week and I won’t be able to deal with it in the country I am going to
