Medical abortion.

Hi there,
I took the first pill yesterday for the medical abortion. Ready to do second part tomorrow. But I’m still suffering with really bad morning sickness. Is this normal. I’m absolutely terrified somethings going to go wrong!

It was a false alarm. Just a bubble feeling thought was blood but wasn’t. The wait continues…. 😖

Fingers crossed it starts for us soon... I really didn’t want to take them orally x

I think it’s upsetting now, but hopefully this feeling will pass. My partner is being brilliant so that helps too. I hope you’re ok too, here if otherwise. Thanks for being here today xx

Good I’m glad you have support with you. I’m going to go to bed soon. Bleeding isn’t heavy just mild at the moment with mild cramps. Have taken some ibuprofen instead of any more condene. I’m put off codene for life now.

I hope you can manage to sleep well. I’ve had quite a bit of cramping & blood.. my hot water bottle is my life saver at the moment. X

Hope it’s not too painful for you. Have you topped up your painkillers?

I’ve got cramps but it’s manageable at the moment. If it gets really bad I may have to think about taking half a codene or something but for now it’s ok.

Am in bed with a film on. Feeling a bit sad now. X

I haven’t topped up yet, but I will do when I get into bed properly. It’s absolutely horrible going through this, but I keep reminding myself of the reasons my partner & I have chosen.

I couldn’t get to sleep until quite late, still having cramps this morning. How are you feeling? X

Sorry only just seen this. I was fine by the following morning. Had a normal day with usual period like bleeding. I hope you’re ok and all is ok for you now. Thinking of you. X

@Username25 @DAWG88 sorry to jump on again. I took my second lot of tablets this morning at 9 then took the next 2 3 hours later at 12. Since then I've been bleeding really heavily, especially the past 4 hours to the point were if I've been sitting down and I stand up it just completely gushes out. Soaks through the pad my knickers and my pants! Did this happen to either of you or is this not normal?

Sorry I’ve only just seen your message. I hope you’re ok. I think they say excessive bleeding can be an issue. I didn’t soak through any pads. I did change them every hour or so though and had to double up overnight.

Did they advise that you could take all tablets in one day?

I think there are different methods but the one I did I had to wait 24 hours between doses

@loubear123 I’m so so sorry I’ve only just seen this. Mine was similar to yours for the first 24 hours and then over the weekend it was just similar to a very heavy period.

I had to wait 24-48hrs between taking the second pills, which was maybe different to yours. If you’re unsure of what you’re experiencing and doesn’t feel right, maybe ring the advice line on a leaflet you should have?

Hi guys I’m just writing to you in the hopes I get some reassurance I’m going for a medical abortion
My anxiety is through the roof on the what ifs like ie what if I die what if it doesn’t come away. I know crazy I even think like that but I’m such a worry head. I will be 4 wks when I get it done can anyone give me reassurance xx

@Jakiii Hey sweetie. We can’t guarantee anything as we aren’t medical professionals on here but what I can tell you from my experience is that the whole thing - with bleeding lasted a week. I had painful cramps but with painkillers that should subside. I was lucky not to have many other side effects. Make sure you have a hot water bottle and lots of fluids. Be kind to yourself and try to rest hun. If something doesn’t seem right or normal to you then please ring an advice line. Best of luck with everything xx

I am having my first part of medical abortion tomorrow. I already have two little ones so another just just not work for my and my partner. So scared whats to come? Can anyone that has been here give me a little info i keep thinking i will be an unlucky one and it wont work for me :(

@User0892 Hey lovely. We’ve all felt nervous & anxious, it’s normal. Just take good care of yourself and follow the instructions. For me the first pill didn’t do anything other than make me feel a bit sick.. you’ll feel bad cramping with the second lot so make sure you have some pain relief & a hot water bottle on hand. Again with me, the bleeding took a few hours to start, I gather that’s normal as I had another lady on here who went through the same thing at the same time. I bled for just over a week, the first few days were very heavy but we’re all different hun. If you have any concerns afterwards, ring the advice line if you have a leaflet. @User0892 my daughter had a medical abortion a few months ago while she was staying with us and she said it was OK - just like a heavy crampy period. She was actually quite pleased at how easy the whole process was.
