heavy bleeding and clotting a month after medical abortion

I have been bleeding and clotting all day and its getting worse, but I don't feel unwell. The BPAS website says to call if you are flooding your pads and feel unwell but I feel fine, infact I've done more today than usual. Anyone had similar?

Also the BPAS website says that its normal to have pain (i have had none) and clotting a month or so after abortion. I haven't had any pain and feel fine in myself but its quite a bit heavier than my normal periods. I have bled continuously for the last month ever since anyway.

Before anyone jumps on, 111 is taking ages and I just want other womens views while I am waiting.
TIA

You haven't mentioned anything unusual about the bleeding or clotting, such as odour or unusual colour, but keep an eye out for that.
It can't hurt to get checked out, and you wont be wasting anyone's time if it turns out nothings wrong. They'd rather see you and there be no problem, than not see you and miss something.

No the colour is bright red apart from the clots that are deep red, almost black. They are quite large, maybe the size of a plum. so not the danger lemon size. Not smelly.
I'm not really that worried but DH is worried, but he's never really seen any period so 🤷
When I was standing trying to clean myself off the blood was dripping like a dripping tap which have never experienced before, that set the alarm bells ringing.

Hi OP, AIBU is not the best place for this thread, we've moved it to Pregnancy Choices. Flowers

Hi op.

Please get yourself checked out. It is always better to be over cautious in these situations.

Are you on hold to 111 at the moment ?

I had this after a d&c for missed miscarriage and turned out I had whst they call retained products. Had to have another d&c. I also had this on and off after taking misoprostol for second mmc and partner ended up ringing ambulance as it got really heavy one night and was on verge of passing out. Again retained produvts
Ended up really anemic due to nlood loss. Look after yourself - I actually felt OK when ambulance got to me when got to hospital was flooding through loads of pads, it was really painful too, just couldn't keep up with it. Keep a close eye on it - I was told that amount of blood needed to be kept an eye on not nessesarily the pain levels. Hope 111 give you some reassurance

I had retained products (they called it a collapsed sack) after a medical abortion. It caused extremely heavy bleeding to the point where I went straight to a&e and they suspected a haemorrhage (it wasn’t but they said it does cause very heavy bleeding). You may pass it yourself but if not they will probably need to do a d&c? If you are flooding pads I would definitely get checked.

I have just left hospital after being admitted for 2 days, had retained products and ended up needing a blood transfusion. Go to a&e ASAP!

Thanks everyone. The bleeding and clotting stopped after about 12 hours so I am thinking my body flushed out whatever it needed to. Keeping an eye but basically dry all morning so far. Thank you all!
