I had a medical top 5 weeks ago today and I’ve still not had a period and it’s scaring the life out of me , how long did it take you to get your first period . I’ve taken a pregnancy test provided 2 weeks ago and was negative . Also took a standard home test the other day which was also negative . I just want my body to go back to normal ,
I’m feeling the PMS symptoms just no period . Any help or answers would be appreciated ladies x

I got mine around the 5 week (ish) mark. Give it time. Your body is trying to get back to its base.
I know how rough this is so thinking of you.x

@ED81 Thankyou for your reply . I’ve literally come on this morning , it makes sense as to why I’ve been feeling so horrendous the last week ( I suffer with insane PMS and my mood drop considerably) been really suffering with this abortion decision .
Also the periods triggered me slightly woth it being my first one , reminds me of what I done those few weeks ago and how it’s really truly all over with when I didn’t want it to be xx

Aw, yes it can difficult when your first period arrives. And waiting for it to come whist experiencing pms is awful. Hormones are a bit*h sometimes.

This whole experience can be very overwhelming so just take your time getting yourself together. I’d always recommend post abortion counselling.xx

@Rose925
Hi Rose!
I feel you i really do. I had a surgical procedure done and i was expecting my first period to be lighter, ive always had lightish periods with no real cramps or PMS. As i was told the first one after this type of procedure is normally lighter.
It was anything but. Very heavy, lots of small clots and terrible cramps. (TMI) It was also very emotional. It triggered all the feelings from directly after. (I regret my decision massively)
I thought by month 2 it should be back to normal. But again it wasnt. Took forever to start, spotting for days then followed by heavy flow and painful cramps in my back, legs, pelvis. It also lasted around 10 days. (Normal for me is 5-6 days)
I am hoping its just a case of my hormones settling back into rhythm, but the emotional side makes me think i have now done permanent damage to myself from the procedure.
All of the other emotions aside, its really made me think, gosh being a women is tough business! We endure so so much and carry the weight of the world on our shoulders.
I hope you are feeling better today xx

Aww I’m so sorry you’re going through this . In a weird way it’s comforting to know I’m not alone , with it being such a taboo subject it isn’t broadly spoken about is it, yet 1 in 3 of us will have atleast one in our lifetime !
Yea mines been pretty heavy to say the least few clots but nothing major , it’s more the psychological side of things woth me having a medical, it brings it all back my heart physically aches when I think about it I’ve been extremely tearful too.
I know there’s nothing I can do but I’d give anything to make my decision again, I keep visualising how far gone I’d be etc etc , I don’t know If I’m torturing myself by doing things like that.
Either way I wouldn’t wish this eternal pain on anyone xx
