Medical Management- handholding needed

Hi. I am going through a medical management right now at 7 weeks 3 days.
For context, I am 43 and have 2 children leaving highschool this year and next. Hubby had vasectomy few ys ago, which clearly has failed.

Just wondered if there was anyone in similar shoes. Took the miso at 10 and after what was quite bad pain and cramping I think I have passed the products.
But there isn't the gush of blood or clots following just yet- so it does make me slightly worried. I guess early to say but would really appreciate a listening ear and some experience if one has any to offer.

Thank you.

I had one at 8 weeks and 3 days, I took my first pill and nothing happened, took the second one and about 4 hours later I had a gush of blood and passed 3 clots, quite large but I didn’t have any pain just a normal stomach ache, I bled for about a week later but not heavy. I was still getting positive tests on the tests they give you, so I went back for an internal scan and there was a bit of tissue left behind, it came away the following month with period x

@SudokuZebra

Just to add ARCH stands for Abortion Recovery Care Helpline. However whilst ARCH provides emotional support/ a listenning ear, they can't provide medical advice so any medical questions should go via your provider , (BPAS/Marie Stopes etc)
Oh thanks for this. I had to go through NHS due to location I live in. Will give them a ring, however I think all is prob on the right track now and I maybe just missed the clots that disappeared down the toilet. I have slightly heavier than period type cramps now (which is an improvement). Thank you for being so kind.

Thanks for sharing this with me. I'm sorry you had to go through this! In my mind I wish I could have opted for surgical- over quicker, lots of advantages (as well as some disadvantages ofc). But because of Covid the service is not running as it should and they couldn't even give me a lead time for this! Last thing I want is to end in a different hospital in 2nd trimester so went with it. I think it's the uncertainty more than anything, that's making it stressful. Is my body responding the way it should...? Etc.

I try not to think about the actual ins and outs of whats happening. It would make me really sad if I did.

@SudokuZebra thanks so much.
I think the worst is over now. I ended up with some increasing cramps and bleeding for a few hours before it has settled in the last hour or so. Phoned the ward and they were very supportive too.

Went through a very emotional period when the pain was increasing and I felt like I had no control.

So glad it is over. xx

How you doing now x

Hi @Room4onemore
Much better thank you. Still a bit of bleeding but been able to go out for a bikeride without problems. I hope it has been complete and no further things will be required.
I have gone back to work. Maybe it was too soon. I just feel emotional at random times!
It may be personal preference, but I'd not want to do this again and wish surgical had been an option. X

@SudokuZebra you still here??
I ended up having a surgical evac last Friday. Three weeks after the medical. I kept going back saying that something was not right as my boobs remained tender (and huge!!! Ewgh).
Test was slightly positive and had pelvic pain.
They scanned me first and said some retained tissue, will come away with your next period, here's some antibiotics to stop an infection.

I mean what's the logic in that... i failed to challenge at the time. If pregnancy hormone present I'm not likely to get a period am I, so how is anything going to come away- with endometrial thickness of 20mm plus the boobs it just felt we are missing something.

So two days and a lot of painkillers later I hd an internal scan which did find the sac. I was incredibly lucky to have had the procedure the same day and all seems to be fine now except it all feels like a hazy drunken memory of the last few weeks and it is so hard to not think about it. The anaesthetic was the most calming thing in the world. I felt like just passing out and honestly wouldn't have minded not to waken up at all after.

Afterwards they said my womb points backwards so slightly higher risk of things not working with medical and also higher perforation risk but I knew that. Also cos it was past 10 weeks by this point I had to have anti D too.

I guess I just wanted to say it all out loud really.
Thanks for listening x

So so sorry. I fully understand that. I hope you can get the right type of help!!!
I am back at work but it's all like watching an old black and white movie. As if I wasn't really there.
Not sure what would help though!

Sending you some good healing vibes. Hopefully we will get better soon. xx
