Does eating chocolate give children a sweet tooth

I'd be grateful for some feedback? I ate a lot of chocolate when pregnant with my little girl and I'm really worried that I have now given her a massive sweet tooth which will affect her health? I've read research that indicates this is the case.

Does anyone have any experience of eating lots of sweet things in pregnancy and whether or not their child has developed a colossal sweet tooth when they are older?

I dont think so - I have a sweet tooth and I have a few dc who all have v different tastes despite me eating lots of chocolate !
It may just be a coincidence she likes sweet things too. The biggest issues you may face could be tooth decay so don’t worry overly just brush teeth really really well.
Try to pick healthier choices when you can, I’m sure it will all be fine

I could only stomach bad food in pregnancy, now my little girl's favourite food are brocolli and peas, so I don't think there's much connection. Also, the chances are that your child will like chocolate, the majority of people do. I think as long as you limit her intake and give plenty of healthy options it will be fine, it's all about balance.

Thanks both! That's very reassuring. She is only 5 months so I don't know whether she will have a sweet tooth or not - it's really the inability to control her sweet taste that I'm worried about. She will as you say most probably like chocolate :-)
