Desperate for advice re buying abortion pill online, pls help

I am a single mother of two children and I am desperate to terminate this unwanted pregnancy as soon as possible. I suffer from extreme symptoms such as constant vomiting and extreme tiredness and am unable to work and therefore support my family. I have contacted bpas who said they will contact me for an assessment appointment and I may have to wait two weeks, as there is very high demand at the moment. Marie stopes have said I will need to wait at least two weeks before a procedure can occur.

I have taken two positive pregnancy tests today, a dating pregnancy test which puts me at 2 - 3 weeks, had a scan which did not show foetus but did show thickened womb lining. So I'm for sure pregnant and about at this stage. I am desperate for it not to progress more - I had to go through this before and ended up waiting till I was 8 weeks.

Has anyone bought the pills on line , if so how did you do it? Was it safe? Please help!

OP posts:

yes good luck from me too, but I have to say that I don't understand your situation, if you are a single parent with two children ,don't want any more but then have unprotected sex then ffs get the morning after pill .

PurpleDaisies · 02/06/2017 11:09

How is that helpful viques? How do you know the op hadn't taken the morning after pill and it didn't work?

For the sake of your children op, don't mess about with "medicines" from online sources. You really don't know what's in them or if they're safe. Please go back to your doctor.

RtHonMistress · 02/06/2017 11:12

I don't see abortion as being unethical and am firmly pro-choice but do not buy these pills - or any sort of medication ever - over the internet. God knows what will be in them.

Emergency appointment with your GP and see if it's at all possible to be fast-tracked.

PersianCatLady · 02/06/2017 11:12

I don't think the OP needs to hear that right now.

The OP is trying to get this sorted out ASAP and doesn't need to be told what she should have done.

RtHonMistress · 02/06/2017 11:14

viques "I don't understand your situation".

How prejudiced can you be? That's the last thing the OP will want to hear right now. Besides, it's a bit late to be giving that advice now.

icanteven · 02/06/2017 11:16

Please go to your GP and make a huge song and dance about the particularly debilitating effects you experience during pregnancy.

You mention that you have been through this before and had a termination at 8 weeks. When you see your GP to push for an earlier date, you should also talk to her about a different contraception - a Mirena, for instance, will put your mind at rest (and stop your periods into the bargain!).

viques · 02/06/2017 11:25

I am sorry if I came across as unsympathetic, but I feel very strongly that women who choose to have unprotected sex but who don't want children have a responsibility to understand what is available. The OP says this is the second time she has been anxious about the waiting time for an abortion, she lives in the UK, she sounds articulate, she has access to online advice, so knows the morning after pill, which is extremely effective btw,and is easily available to her.

If she was a 15 year old in Belfast I would not have written what I did because the situation there is very different. But she isn't.

sorry if it sounded harsh OP, I do wish you well ,but please get your contraception/ termination options better organised .

expatinscotland · 02/06/2017 11:26

Please don't do this! Go back to your GP and get something stronger for your nausea. As Persian said, HCPs want a further scan to make sure the foetus is in the uterus and not somewhere else. Also with a surgical termination you can probably have a Mirena fitted for contraception at the same time. So dangerous to order drugs online. You have two young children to think about. Please ring your GP surgery today instead.

PurpleDaisies · 02/06/2017 11:28

Ffs viques you don't know what contraception the op was using. You're just assuming it was nothing.

The morning after pill won't work for 5 women out of every 100 even if it's taken within 24 hours of unprotected sex.

AnnaFiveTowns · 02/06/2017 11:30

Please, don't buy this online.

I had an abortion pill about 6 years ago. I was about 4 weeks pregnant when I did the test but was told at the clinic that I would have to wait until I was 8 weeks before they could give me the tablet. I'm not sure why.

DrunkenUnicorn · 02/06/2017 11:34

Viques, do fuck off and take a Biscuit whilst you're at it

Parmaviolets13 · 02/06/2017 11:36

This sounds awful, but have you been to the doctor op about your sickness? If he is 100% sure you are not continuing with the pregnancy they could give you tablets to help that maybe weren't suitable for the baby if you were keeping.
They did that with me, anyway.

AnnaFiveTowns · 02/06/2017 11:37

Thinking back though, it was probably because they needed to see it on the scan first.

I know it's hard waiting when you're sure that you don't want to go through with it, and you feel ill, but in your circumstances I think you need to have the scan done before you take the pill.

Purple daisies, do your research properly and don't just click on the the first Google hit. NHS figures think that between 1% and 2% of women taking a MAP continue into a pregnancy, hard to say how many don't because many will not have been pregnant anyway, same sort of numbers for those using an IUD to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex. no, it is not 100% but is a damn good first defence after unprotected sex.

I am very pro abortion btw, but think it plays into the hands of anti abortionists who will cry abortion used as contraception if they think it is being used as such.

you are right, I don't know what contraception the OP was using, but if it has failed twice she needs to talk to her GP.

PersianCatLady · 02/06/2017 12:17

They can see a foetus on a trans-vaginal scan if they can't see it on a standard scan before 8 weeks.

A scan is so important as it confirms that the foetus is in the uterus and not somewhere else like a fallopian tube.

tickwhitetick · 02/06/2017 12:58

women on web are an AMAZING organisation but I don't think they'll provide pills for you OP, unless you're in NI or Isle of Man

DawnMumsnet · 02/06/2017 13:03

Hi Sancerresanwine,

We can see you're getting some good advice and support here. If it's okay with you, we're going to move this thread over to our Pregnancy Choices topic.

We echo what many posters have said in urging you to seek medical advice in real life as well as on here. We really hope you're okay. Flowers

UndersecretaryofWhimsy · 02/06/2017 13:08

Sorry to assume this but if money is an issue, the GP can also get the BPAS to waive some or all of their fees.

There are no fees for treatment at BPAS or Marie Stopes, as long as you are eligible for NHS treatment. You can of course opt to pay for private treatment, which might or might not get you seen earlier, but if you have the money you could ask.

PersianCatLady · 02/06/2017 13:16

Is that a new thing because 10 years ago, at BPAS you had to get referred by a GP to waive the initial consultation fees, as far as I remember.

FlaviaAlbia · 02/06/2017 13:20

Sorry you're going through this Sancerresanwine Flowers
Agree that the work Women on the Web do is amazing.

UndersecretaryofWhimsy · 02/06/2017 13:21

Yes it is. You can now self-refer and as long as you are eligible for NHS treatment, you just have to provide your NHS number and they will bill the NHS. Marie Stopes and BPAS now provide the majority of NHS abortions.

Me4You · 02/06/2017 14:30

Since this is your second termination, I hope you'll use secure contraception in future. Don't put yourself through this again. You can avoid becoming pregnant.

Huffl3puffPrinc3ss · 02/06/2017 14:36

Me4You that happens to be none of your business. The OP was asking for advice because she is pregnant now. It doesn't matter if she has had one abortion previously or ten. If she would like contraception advice I'm sure she will ask us for it! The OP doesn't need a hard time right now. Save the lecture

PersianCatLady · 02/06/2017 21:34

Although I hope I never need to know this personally, it may come in handy in the future.

Thank you.
