Graphic Image Warning - Does passing a decidual cast mean miscarriage?

Hey ladies

So I have been bleeding & cramping for 8 days now. Last night I passed what I believe to have been a decidual cast ( photo attach, apologies for the TMI) and since only had spotting with no cramps. I have done another test which is a little lighter than all the rest, but not sure if I’m just going crazy at this point. Meant to be 6 weeks today 😣

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and can share their story? I’m having to wait until 1st March for any clarity which is a killer.

I've passed a cast like this, this was after a miscarriage. I obviously can't say for sure, but I would imagine this is what has happened. I'm sorry.

@bigbillybobhowler I’m sorry you went through that and appreciate your message! I thought that may of been the case. I can’t imagine passing something like this is normal / safe during a pregnancy, especially after reading why this usually happens.

@bigbillybobhowler Did you still experience the any pregnancy symptoms after passing this e.g fatigue, lower belly bloating. And do you remember how long it took before you had a negative pregnancy test? Sorry for the questions!

Don't be sorry, it will take a while for your hormones to settle and tests to become negative. Mine have always taken around 4/6 weeks. You may still experience heavy clotting and bleeding and cramping. Make sure you get medical care. You will get through this!

@bigbillybobhowler This is really helpful, thank you so much. My GP reckons I have had a miscarriage too and now have a scan on Friday to make sure there is no remaining tissue etc. Is heartbreaking but will be a relieve to get some clarity and closure, rather than sitting in limbo and spending my spare time reading all sorts for some answers aha

Yes, it's pretty awful for you. Don't lose heart! I'm 5 months after many many miscarriages, you'll get there!
