I am about 7/8 weeks atm. My boobs are killing me! I know I ma meant to wear non underwired bras but I am a 32G and they feel worse without the underwires. How vital is it to wear non underwired bras, I am dreading it....

I think this is a do what you want issue. I'm 32 weeks and still in underwires - I will be until I go and get fitted for a nursing bra. Do get refitted though - I am usually 34GG and currenly in 36H as my rib cage has spread as well as slightly bigger boobs.

Hi,
As long as you are measured correctly and regularly you can continue to wear wired bras throughout your pregnancy (yay!!)............as a 34FF girl myself I was really notlooking forward to going without . I used my local john lewis and the girls there were great. I was measured 3 - 4 times throughout my pregnancy and only bought 1 bra at a time (not great but I just washed them at night and dried overnight!!

I'm 29 weeks and still wearing underwires. I've got up two cup sizes and one back size though so had to buy new ones after being fitted at bravissimo. So long as the bras fit you, there's no need to wear non wired ones. I guess at some point just before you need to get fitted for nursing bras but I plan on hanging on until the bitter end. Non wired bras make my 36G's all pointed like Madonna in her Vogue phase. Which wasn't a good look even back then.

I wore underwires throughout pregnancy. Just made sure they were a good fit.

I always wore underwires - am huge. had the bra woman come to my house and after trying on just about every bra she had she said no way - I would be worse off so to stick with going to bravissimo reguarly! Wore them all through pregnancy and fed for 18 months with them on too and never had a single problem - but I was comfortable!! When I'd had DS I went back into bravissimo to look for something non wired and they all looked and felt terrible - but they had a girl working there who was still BFeeding and she was really helpful and she had only worn underwires too. I always managed to just slip my arm out of said bra - ta dah!

Underwires are fine at any point, as long as they fit perfectly. If you're changing a lot, it gets expensive - I would've had to buy new bras every week at one stage, but with soft cups I could start out with a bra that was a bit big and wait till it was a bit small. I went from a C cup to a FF cup in the first trimester. And my chest size hasn't yet changed at all - I'm still waiting for that to happen!

Bravissimo is a must for us big boobed girls IMO. Mothercare, M&S and Mamas & Papas were a disaster for me, bra-wise. My soft-cup bras from Bravissimo aren't very pretty (better than the Mothercare ones though!), but they give me a good shape and have taken away the upper back and shoulder ache!

The Freya soft cup/nursing bras such as Dotty/Emily give the nearest to a wired normal shape if you have bigger boobs. Royce Lauren is a close second.

they were still on my knees
