Recommendations for nappy creams etc

Just wondering if anyone had recommendations for nappy creams, nipple creams etc. Are they all the same? I was just on the Mothercare website and there seemed to be a variety of creams etc. What are the best ones?

Also - breast pads? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

For me the best nappy cream is Bepanthan, i used it when my DD was born, she never got nappy rash all the time i used it, i used it with every nappy change! and i will be using it again this time round (booked in for c-section on the 30th as little monkey is breech) as for breast pads, i find the Tommee Tippee ones are great, they are quite thin but really absorbant and discreet with a handy sticky tab to stop them from moving about.
Hope that helps

My LO rarely gets nappy rash except when teething and the Sudocream freebies in the Bounty packs were fine to last him until he was out of nappies. Depends what type of nappies you are using and whether you want to put it on every change or use more as a medicine.

I found Lanisoh much better than Kamillosan. Although I would have preferred the organic non Lanolin variety if I could have. Again, if you can get a trial size with anything you buy of any nipple cream then that may be all you need as it is only for about 3 weeks that you need it. After that you are not going to want to be tweaking your nips when feeding in public!

Breastpads - definitely an essential and you need lots. They do vary so definitely get the tommee tippee or another recommendation. Tommee Tippee don't scrunch up and stay in place much better than cheaper brands I tried. As OP says, Tesco 2 4 1 is good!

Lansinoh best for nipples I would say. Kamillosan is OK though. My lovely GP gave me a prescription for Kamillosan when I had very cracked and bleeding nipples, so I didn't have to pay for it It was good for DD's bottom too.

I found all brands of disposable breast pads unbearably itchy, so I used washable ones, and found them fantastic, but they are a bit obvious through your bra, even with a jumper on!

Lansinoh for nipples get on prescription from MW/GP after birth
Sudocrem when necessary (whichever you choose don't buy much because baby may have a reaction) also sucocrem much cheaper in the supermarket
Breastpads- johnsons, expensive but I leaked a lot and found they were the only ones that kept in place and kept me dry.

I only use nappy cream if needed. For soreness I swear by metanium, but suggest you do not smear it across good work shirt.

FWIW, have BF all of mine and never needed a breast pad yet.
