Brief bit of background. Now 32 weeks with identical twins. At 30 weeks, my scan showed that one twin (lets say T1) had fallen below the 10th centile. (Previously both were pretty much the same size). There was a bit of concern about TTTS, so I went in the following week for a doppler check and it was fine. This week, same sonographer has measured the other twin as being below the 10th centile, while T1 is back above it.
My consultant has requested that I go in for steroid injections, starting tomorrow, based on these scans, but looking at the graphs, I think the sonographer has just mixed up the twins. Looking at weight gain, if this is the case, they have gained almost the same amount over the last two weeks. If not, one has gained 500g and the other 100g, hence the concern.
Finally, two weeks ago, the sonographer made an error on the report, labelling both twins as being on the same side, so one has clearly been labelled wrongly last time, which adds to my confusion.
What are the chances of the hospital being wrong do you think? DH is concerned about me having treatment based on potentially flawed data, but if I question it tomorrow, am I likely to be told that they will go ahead just on case it is correct? WWYD?
