not lifted a finger - haven't even been walking to and from the station at the end of my road (because DH has changed jobs and been able to drive me most days)

Am doing my pelvic floor as I type

But seriously that is it. But then I didn't do any before I was pregnant so am maintaining my level of fitness...

Oh yay, i dont feel like such a lazy fat pregnant women as i did before now.

But seriously, i feel so lazy! my body just feels as tho it needs a good workout. altho i would feel completely out of place if i went to the gym with my big pregnant belly. i swear i can see ceelulite appearing on a daily basis in places it wasnt before and its annoying me so much i dont know if i can wait another 16 weeks befoe exercising again!

To be honest tho, i dont know where i would fit a workout into my life at the moment, with a full time job and 2 year old im too knackered come 7pm wen hes in bed! hopefully once im on maternity leave ill have more time to fit my gym workouts in and banish that cellulite!

Exercising? What's that?

Haven't done any at all and to be perfectly honest, I couldn't think of anything worse to do! I read today that Paula Radcliffe has done a 10km run at 7 months pregnant - is she mental?! ... Or are we just lazy?!

Allegrogirl · 05/07/2010 20:29

Running around after and carrying large two year old, belly dancing up to 29 weeks and an occasional swim when I can be bothered.

Did aqua aerobics, aqua natal and swimming every week with first. Am more fit at 33 weeks this time round just because of the two year old.

a run at 7 months pregnant?! u have got to be joking? that sounds ridiculous! it was probably more like a jog but still 10km?! i only do 5km wen i go gym not pregnant!

I was half way through the training for a marathon when I found out that I was pregnant with DD. Didn't do a spot of exercise from then on in (well, apart from a bit of yoga and the odd bit of cycling to the supermarket) and paid for it heavily (no pun intended) by putting on nearly four stones, i.e. nearly 50% of my former body weight during the pregnancy :-0! And no, I didn't turn out to be one of those women whose bodies snap back into shape immediately afterwards!

YummyMummy1208 · 05/07/2010 20:41

oh well thankfully i am one of those women whos bodies snap back quite quick after birth - well almost back, my belly ended up slightly bigger than before but i got rid of that after a year or so, im just worried about the state of my skin - yea to be skinny is one thing but not if ur covered in cellulite.
i shud really stop sitting my ass on this chair to talk on here and go do some squats or something shudnt i!

I am getting loads of cellulite too, it just seems to be appearing on the tops on my legs and on my bum and I haven't really put that much weight on! Can you even get rid of cellulite? Or am a stuck with it forever? what with worrying about that and worrying that I might get stretch marks i'll be a nervous wreck by the end of this pregnancy!!

Honeybee79 · 05/07/2010 21:04

I was a runner before I got pregnant and continued to run 3 times a week (about 5 or so miles for each run) until I got to about 22 weeks and then it became uncomfortable. Now I try to swim 3 or 4 times a week and take it nice and easy.

I couldn't not exercise really but then I have plenty of pregnant friends who couldn't imagine anything worse - whatever works for each person I guess.

It's different for Paula Radcliffe - her body is so used to it that it presents no risks and running 10km in 45 mins probably didn't even cause her to break a sweat . . . way off her usual pace!

gigglet · 05/07/2010 21:35

I'm a little disappointed with the timing of everything with this... I hurt my back just before I found out I was pregnant, which resulted in a few weeks off running, which would've lost me some fitness and made things harder. Just yesterday, I had the pleasure of vomiting about 8 minutes into a run... I'm going to try again tomorrow - I really can't stand the idea of going into childbirth in an unfit state.

emmyloo2 · 05/07/2010 21:57

I must admit I am still going to the gym most days to try and stay fit but I was a gymoholic before I got pregnant. I had to stop running at about 19 weeks though because it was too uncomfortable and murder on my pelvic floor muscles. So now just using the cross-trainer and stationary bike. I was a big runner before but there is no way I would run 10km and I am only 22 weeks. How Paula Radcliffe ran 10km at 7 mths is beyond me. It would be quite uncomfortable I imagine. I overdid at the gym a few weekends ago and it put me in bed for the rest of the weekend. Learnt my lesson and now take it much much easier.
