When do you need to start getting the baby into position/ when does it need to be done by?

My last baby was breech, so needed a cs. I really want to avoind that this time, so have been thinking about optimal fetal positioning. But I don't think I'm doing very well! I haven't been able to go swimming much (work vs opening times of a small pool) and have been so tired that watching tv while leaning on the birthing ball is the last thing I want to do! I try always to sleep in the left and lie on the settee on my left hand side and I am trying not to slouch. Also I have an anterior placenta, so am worried about the baby being back to back.

Thing is I am only 25 weeks. But ds was breech from 24 weeks and never moved... Part of me thinks I am worrying too soon, the other thinks I might as well start now in case this one gets stuck as well (ds never moved from the exact same position until he was born).

So what is the concensus? Am I worrying too soon, if so when is the best time to start?

Thanks!

I was told 34 weeks, as before then the baby would be moving around a lot any way and not really settling in one position.

But given that your DS was breech from so early on it sounds like this isn't true for everyone, so maybe it would be worth doing what you can to encourage an optimal position from now on - I guess it can't hurt as long as you don't worry too much about the times you're too tired to think about it.

From friends' experiences though I do wonder if some babies will just find a position they like regardless of what we try and do to encourage them otherwise!
