Is 23 weeks too early for braxton Hicks??

As title says really.
Also during real contractions (if not braxton hicks), does the baby continue to move?

I should know the answer to the second bit, but labour was so quick with DD I really can't remember much about the contractions .

Totally fine now and baby still moving, but was a bit scared as I had uncomfortable pain that kept coming and going throughout the morning that started at the front and spread to my back, lasting only seconds, then easing.

I get them. 23 weeks today. Have had them for a wee while now. It was the same for each of my 3 other pregnancies. I woudn't class it as pain, though, just a tightening. If you are in pain, check with your midwife.

Tightening is probably better, it wasn't ouch painful just uncomfortable, if that makes sense.

Yes, uncomfortable in that I need to sit down and that makes them go away more quickly.

I distinctly remember my DS2 moving between contractions during labour. There was a point where I saw my bump swing from one side to the other. Bizarre.

I have had them too , only once & quite short

I had tightenings with both from around 20 weeks. more so when stressed. was a good reminder for me to take things slowly.

I've had lots from about 20 weeks (first baby). Had a nasty episode around 26 weeks when I'd overdone it (very busy day at work, rushed off to get shopping after work, up half the night preparing to have people round next day) and went to bed and had more or less non-stop Braxton Hicks - I was awake at 3 in the morning wondering whether I ought to phone the hospital, but as they never got either painful or regular I decided it was probably OK.

I've had them since 16 weeks which coincided with me feeling movements for the first time too. I think everyone is different and the guidelines saying you'll get them from 30 weeks may apply to the majority but not us!

I agree ref the overdoing it.

The other doing it bit does make sense, I had been to the gym on Friday morning, I do try not to overdo it, but I did notice when we were warming up that running was becoming uncomfortable might be time to quit the gym .
All is fine this morning not even a twinge and he is playing football or boxing in there I think.
Thank you for all the advice ladies.

I did find a reassuring thread or two in the archives about this, as I got some at 17 weeks, and most days since.

It seems that it's not usual, but it is normal
