Hi just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

Ive recently come across mumsnet discussions and have found some really useful advice amongst the topics!!

Im Rebecca due on August 23rd with my second baby (a little boy). I already have a delightful (if not trying at times) little girl called Megan who will be 4 in October.

Look forward to joining in

Hi Becca!

I'm sure you'll find lots of useful stuff here as well as lots of trivial things to waste your time on

I've got 2 DSs (Dear Sons) aged 4 1/2 and 2 1/2

Welcome!
We can have a race. I'm due my 3rd on 30th August (I expect you'll win!). Have a 5 yr old dd and a 2.5 yr old ds.
Enjoy mumsnet...

Hello
All human life is here! Its a fantastic way to waste time and you can actually learn things occasionally. How's the pg going?

Princesspeahead - Your on for that race but I REALLY REALLY hope I beat you to it!! - I dont want to still be pregnant on 1st Sep

Lilibet - pregnancy has been pretty horrendous, I started bleeding at 6 weeks and for weeks was uncertain whether I would miscarry - it was later discovered I have a hematoma on my placenta that has bled continuously throughout the pregnancy resulting in being admitted 4 times and high risk - weekly scans have shown the baby to be growing great in spite of the problems and touch wood at 35 weeks things seem to be sorting themselves out - bleeding not as bad as it was and baby growing well!

Thanks for asking
Becca

He's going to be a tough and strong little chap then to have kept going thru all that. Look forward to hearing about him on the birth announcements thread. I have 3, but I'm an older mum, dd 14 (aarrgghh), and ds's 10 and 6.

oh dear becca, you sound like you've been in the wars a bit with this one. are you planning a normal birth or does this condition mean you'll have to be caesared or something?

Well...........initially I was told that the baby would be delivered at 34 weeks after steroid injections as it was thought that by then the placenta would just give up after the prolonged bleeding and would be safer to get baby out as soon as it was fairly safe to do so but thankfully this little fighter has carried on growing in spite of everything and is a perfectly healthy baby who is quite happy inside his mummy!!

Extra good news is that since 32 weeks the hematoma is reducing and I havent had any further heavy bleeds, just light bleeds and spotting so...........with careful monitoring leading up to and during delivery I may well get a shot of natural delivery with him. It goes without saying that if I was to bleed heavily again or if the placenta started to deteriorate it would be a c section for me.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Will definitely keep fingers crossed. Lilibet is right - your son sounds like a strong, unflappable, determined chap. Good for both of you.
