Dp, DS (3) and I are going to a (very family friendly, civilised) festival at the end of July when I will be 34 weeks pregs. We are camping for two nights.

It all seemed a marvellous idea when I booked the tickets but feeling a bit nervous now!

Keep wondering how I will cope with all the walking/standing and also the lack of showers etc. Also have this silly idea about going into prem labour due to exertion (dont know why I keep thinking this, Ds was two weeks late and I was scrubbing the floors, walking the dogs etc every day for weeks before he arrived)

Have purchased a comfy airbed and a porta loo so that i can go to the loo easily in the night.

Just lloking for some reassurance really, dont want to back out now as DS is beside himself with excitement bless his heart!

I camped at 36 weeks with ds2 when I was on crutches due to pgd!

I didn't do a lot at all, but still had fun. Take a comfy chair and get a good spot to the side of the main crowds so you don't have to be on your feet for prolonged periods.

DS1 was 2 1/2 weeks late, but ds2 arrived on his due date, so don't count on this baby being late!!!

Hope you have a fab time.

In a word, YES

Cannot imagine being at a festival 36w pg. The toilets. The heat. The rubbish sleep quality. The lack of comfortable sleeping. No opportunities for bathing

Have a lovely time though! I am more than happy to admit I am currently a heavily-pregnant old whinge-bag

Absolutely insane

I was playing superwoman until last week - when suddenly my body gave up. Am exhausted, anemic and high bp - just need a rest (am 34 weeks).

However you may be much luckier than me and find that sort of thing relaxing!

I went to a festival about that stage last time. We cheated and drove home about an hour away each night for our comfy bed and shower.

It was great though I and I survived trudging through the mud, sitting on the floor and even had a little dance to a few bands. I didn't already have a little one to deal with.

I couldn't have camped at that stage. It depends how comfy your airbed is.

Guilty, are you going to Camp Bestival?? We are going with DS (3.5) and I will be 28 weeks pg, so a bit behind you, but still big enough!! I will be sleeping in the camper van and DS and DH in the tent. We plan to be completely chilled, not move around too much. We have got a portable shower (you can get a little shower/toilet tent too) and portable loo. I also have a she-wee knocking around at home that has never been used, and I thought it would be ideal for when I HAVE to go to the festival loos.

My first thought was no, but now I am really looking forward to it. I have to say though, that I would not fancy the airbed, so test it out and make sure it is REALLY comfy. Take lots of extra pillows, etc. I still have to get a chair that DH can easily carry around me - have mild SPD and can't sit on the floor. I figured we would take the pushchair into the site each day and it can carry a chair and cushion. If the weather does get really bad, or it's all too much, it's actually only an hour from us, otherwise I wouldn't be going.

I am sure you'll have a great time and if not, well you tried, you can always go home - I would rather go this year while the baby is still on the inside, and then go again when it's a bit older!
