Hi,

I'm 13+2 wks and have been feeling sick and puking for the last 8 weeks.

My Mum, my MIL and all of my friends never suffered with sickness much...Grrr.
To top it all off people are now saying 'Oh, I thought that you'd be over all of that by now.' which makes me feel that I'm making it up.

When did you stop feeling/being sick? x

For me it was 22 weeks with this pregnancy, and 18 weeks for the first, when I eventually stopped being sick. (Now at 30 weeks and still have the odd day where I feel sick.)

Sorry, as this is probably not what you want to hear!

I had no sickness really at all with DD1 and I was very sick but stopped at 14weeks on the dot with DS1.

LaTrucha · 22/06/2010 11:28

DD1 - didn't
DC2 - haven't (39 weeks tomorrow).

It happens. People generally don't know that it does.

I did one of these threads a couple of weeks ago as in my head I could cope with the sickness for the 1st trimester. Then I got very upset a few days later when I was still ill.

I'm now 15+1 and still feel ill all day but don't always vomit, but have come to terms that it might be like this the whole way through. Then if it stops it's a bonus

Hope you feel better soon, and take some comfort in the fact that you have a healthy baby. Apparently the more sick you feel the better they are doing (possibly not true but it makes me feel better!)

cluckyduck · 22/06/2010 11:45

Lavitabelle - thats not true and not that helpful to women who may be worried that they havent had more nausea - every pregnancy is different, every woman is different.

Hope your nausea eases soon OP.

Funkycherry · 22/06/2010 11:48

Mine stopped at about 30wks.
Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear.

My GP was able to give me medication that dissolved on my gum (couldn't hold ANYTHING down.)

MrsGangly · 22/06/2010 12:00

My vomiting stopped about 3 weeks ago - I'm 35 weeks now.

Hope you get better before I did!

japhrimel · 22/06/2010 12:03

Mine started easing at 12 weeks and now at 15 weeks, is only triggered by fatigue and specific problematic smells/sights (the bin, public loos, etc).

But I know that if you have hyperemesis it more often goes on longer. Hope you feel better soon and don't let anyone make you feel freaky for being sick. No two pregnancies are the same, but so many people seem to assume that their situation or their wife's situation is what everyone experiences.

TwoCupcakes · 22/06/2010 13:21

I'm on my 3rd pregnancy and with each one, I had severe morning sickness and even lost quite a bit of weight during the first one. the funny thing is that the sickness starts at 6 weeks and always goes at 16 weeks without fail so far despite my hoping that which each pregnancy, things would be easier.

really sympathise, esp with those who have it throughout the whole pregnancy. i tried everything (ginger, travel wristbands) and the one that worked best for me was to just eat little and often and be resigned to staring down the toilet bowl on a regular basis!

g'luck, get better soon!

Hevster · 22/06/2010 13:24

24 weeks and no sign of it going yet but I don't think I am the norm! Oddly I didn't have hyperemesis with DD1 but am suffering from it with DD2 - can't work that one out but hope you feel better soon

CTJ82 · 22/06/2010 14:28

Thanks all, obviously I'd like the sickness to go sooner rather than later but it helps to know that I'm not the only one

Hiya, had constant nausea and some actual sickness right up to 15 weeks or so. Now 21+4 and still get days when I feel dreadful- smells still set me off and there is still a list of food/drink to be avoided. Everyone said to me that after 12 weeks you magically stop feeling sick and you get your energy back- loada rubbish... I have more energy because I have finally decided to rest a lot more after DH kept telling me off! As the other posts here say, every pregnancy is different. Eat whatever you can keep down, make sure you're getting plenty of liquid, try the usual natural remedies (ginger, mints etc) and if you are really that bad then see your doctor or midwife as there are things you can take. Even for the two weeks when I could only stomach spaghetti hoops and potato waffles , baby was still growing fine- your body is an amazing thing!

NETTEYJC · 22/06/2010 15:01

I'm 27 weeks and the sickness hasn't stopped, I'm sick if I have my breakfast too late, sick if I have it too early, sick if I'm hungry, sick if I'm hungry and then have a meal on an empty stomach, sick if I have fizzy drinks, sick if I eat yoghurts, as you can see, my life is one big sick fest! Like redbird, everyone told me taht It would stop after 12 weeks .... yeah right! lol sorry for not being much help, I hope yours passes soon as It's a pain!

skihorse · 22/06/2010 15:09

I'm 36 weeks and threw up this morning... 90 minutes after taking my tablet.
