feeling dodgy and HCG level question

So I'm only 5 weeks, and this is my first (aside from mc last year). I have a question that I can't find the answer to in any of my pg books that has been puzzling me since last time I was pg maybe you can help me with.

I've read that, very approximately, ms seems to be in line with increase in HCG levels, which get higher and higher in 1st tri, then start to decrease (hence getting more and more dodgy in 1st tri). However, they also say that HCG levels peak between 7 - 10 ish weeks. So, I'm wondering, if your levels were to peak in week 7, does that mean week 7 would be your worst week ms wise, and it would continue on this level of severity for the remainder of the 1st trimester or will it get worse? Similarly, if your peak was week 10, then it would get worse and worse until you reached the peak?

I knwo this soudns like an odd question, but just something that I have been muddling about (it might give me hope - if mine peak quickly, then at least I know how bad it will get)

In my experience, although ms was definitely worse in the first trimester (totally gone now at 26 weeks), it didn't correspond with HCG levels in any obvious linear way. I went to the EPU convinced I had mc'd when my ms disappeared around 8 weeks. My HCG was 121,000 and baby was fine. The ms came back a couple of days later and continued to come and go all the way until 15 weeks. So try not to attach too much significance to the exact pattern of your symptoms.

Thanks, it's very hard to have so little control or pattern over this - you can't plan or make sense of it!
