Who do I speak to change hospital?

I'm currently booked in at King's College hospital, but after trying to rush there this week for a mini crisis (which turned out to be nothing ) after rush hour and finding it still took 25 mins, I think I would actually like to change to one a lot closer to home. Also, the parking is terrible and I kept myself awake the last two nights worrying that we would forget to top up a metre (if we were lucky enough to find a space) and would end up with a car clamped. All very unnecessary at this point, but it's taking my mind off much more significant family events.

So, (back on topic) who do I have to speak to about changing? I have a GP appointment booked this week, can he arrange it all for me? Or do I need to contact the hospital directly?

Thanks very much for any advice on this one

I've done this twice with two different hospitals. Both times the Dr wrote a letter and reffered me to the hospital of my choosing so your GP should be able to arrange this for you.

Or you might be able to self refer to the hospital you want to change to. Have a look on the maternity unit page of the hospital website. I have just transferred from Royal Free to Whittington by filling in and sending off the form that is on the Whittington website - they had a few questions asking if I was transferring my care and if so from which hospital. Yes, the GP can do it for you, but sometimes it's quicker to do it yourself.

I'll have a look on the website as well. Thanks very much

my midwife changed mine but then in Wiltshire the care is midwife led rather than GP.
