I am 7 weeks pregnant today. I had a scan last Mon (at 6+2) which was 'inconclusive' because they basically saw the heartbeat, then couldn't find it again, so I think were erring on the side of caution. Having had a mmc at 8 weeks 3 years ago I am pretty scared of this happening again.

I was very sick with DD and at this point was certainly being sick.

With this one my symptoms are (and always have been):

-sore breasts
-tender nipples
-feeling sick (a gaggy kind of feeling so that anything I put in my mouth wants to come straight back up)
-heartburn
-NO appetite. But then I will fancy something, eat it, and it doesn't taste right so end up leaving it anyway (such a pain!).
-very tired (like I've been hit by a bus tired)
-Most foods I used to enjoy are completely off the menu now and don't even get me started on meat..blah.

I really don't know what to think as I was definately much worse when I had a healthy pregnancy.

Those who have had a mmc, did you have symptoms still? I really cannot remember, although I seem to remember noting that I was not as tired or sicky feeling anymore.

Sorry for the ramble :-(

I'm sorry about your mmc. I had one at 9 weeks and I still had symptoms right to the end. They were different to my first pregnancy, but still symptoms. I got pg again with dd2 and was utterly paranoid until at least 16 weeks. I was less sick with her, could eat more, less tired, no heartburn, etc. etc. but it turns out that the pregnancy was just different. I'm sorry I can't definitively reassure you, but it's just a bit of a horrid waiting game.

A scan at 6+2 is pretty early.

You still have pregnancy symptoms, so you are likely to still be pregnant. If you are really worried why not try a clearblue pregnancy test (the one which tells you whether you are 1-2 weeks/ 2-3weeks)?

Also I do recall that my pg symptoms stopped a few weeks before MC.

Good luck

banana - I am going to contradict northlondochoclover (sorry!), but those conception indicator things are not the way to go, they are so unreliable, and could cause more worry than help. I have had recurrent m/c(8), one where I was 11 weeks, it had stopped at 7 just after seeing the heartbeat a few days earlier, but then I had another pregnancy where there was only a sac no baby at nearly 7 weeks and yet everything was perfect and correct for dates, two weeks later and pregnancy progressed perfectly. So a scan at 6 weeks I would not take as good or bad news now.

I have symptoms whether or not I am m/c. Symptoms or lack of them are not good indicators of how a pregnancy is progressing.

I am sorry there is nobody that can reassure you, but do hold onto the hope that you are unlikely to have another mmc, and that all being well at your next scan things should look good. I hope you do not have to wait long til your next scan for reassurance.

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks last year and had very few symptoms. I'm now 6 weeks pg and feeling some symptoms but not much so i'm very worried again too. I want to see if my gp will send me for an early scan to put my mind at ease. I also did one of those clearblue tests which said I was 5 plus weeks so hopefully things will be ok but it is a constant worry for me at the min.

Hi Banana - I'm one of those people who seem to be lucky and suffer very little in pregnancy. This is my third and apart from tiredness and slightly tender boobs there is nothing. I have friends who have had completely different pregnancies each time so symptoms or not is not a sign of anything. It's a horrible waiting game that you are going to have to play unfortunately. Try and fill the next two weeks with as much as possible to take your mind of it as much as you can. I had to wait 3 weeks and it seemed to go fairly quickly running around after my other two. Fingers crossed.

As has already been said, if you have no concrete e idence to say something is wrong, then try to stay positive.
Pg tests are not conclusive in this situation. I had a d&c in december, had symptoms til a week later, and got pos pg tests for 10 days afterwards, despite knowing for sure I wasn't pg. Best of luck. I'm sure it'll all be fine this time
