no! nothing in that post makes me think you shouldn't go for it
(unless you are posting because you don't want to, and want talking out of it?)
Do you work? What are your qualifications? Would you have a career to start in/ go back to if that's what you'd want when your children are older?

funnysinthegarden · 18/06/2010 22:10

no, not if you feel you are ready

familyofthree · 18/06/2010 22:53

i was planning on going back to college and doing midwifery but then thought maybe it would be better to have my children first? so i dont have to stop and start it everytime i got pregnant

If you're not too young for the first, I guess you're not too young for the second? Sounds like you need to think about it some more, but either way good luck figuring out what will work best for you.

you're not too young if you feel ready but one thing to consider is if your body is ready for it.

I had my first when I was 33 and so wanted to have my second quite quickly but was warned by my GP, MW and HV to wait until body was fully recovered so as to ensure I was fit enough and not cause unnecessary physical problems. My SIL also had her 2 in her 30's but only 13 months apart (much closer than you) and she has had a number of health issues because of this.

You're a lot younger so will probably recover quicker but you should consider your health too.

if we wait till we're "ready" then we'd never have any.
You go for it when you feel you can. Sounds like as good a time as any, to me!

japhrimel · 21/06/2010 16:12

Can you afford it? That's the thing I would be concerned about. If you're already not working and have kept all the baby stuff from the first time round, the second one is a lot more affordable though. But if you planned to go back to work because of finances, you may find that there's no point in doing so if you have to pay for childcare twice.

vmcd28 · 21/06/2010 18:02

Tbh, I don't think many of us can afford to have any, but we find a way.
