How to keep driving?

Crikey, I'm only 14 weeks and already the size of a barge - admittedly my 4th DC so I suppose it's to be expected.

Last pg, I had to stop driving in the last couple of months because I couldn't fit behind the steering wheel and be able to push the pedals all the way down. It wasn't too much of a problem, though, as my mum and DH did the school runs after I finished work at the end of term.

This time though, I'm due in February, and because I now only go in to the school to teach for an hour and a half a week, (I'm a 'cello teacher!) I'd feel really guilty if I stop any earlier than 36weeks and started back later than 6-8 weeks afterwards, as I'm having another c-section.

The thing is, is how on earth am I going to drive? The school runs won't be so bad, as DH works from home 3 days, and if needed, my mum would do the other 2 for me. But ideally I'd like to them myself, but I just can't see how I'm going to do it, unless I get some blocks of wood attached to the pedals!

Someone else must have had this problem - any solutions?

No suggestions but am watching in the hope someone else will have - I have a 40 mile journey each way to commute full-time and can't really finish before 36 weeks, am currently 22.... getting a bit worried about the same situation!!

Taxis? I know I'm going to struggle too. I don't think there's a way round it TBH and I'm especially worried about the airbag in case of an accident. All the advice I've found just says you must stop driving if you can't fit comfortably behind the wheel (and ideally with plenty of room between you and the airbag!). You'd hardly want to convert your car to hand controls just for this short time!

Taxis if it's not too far. I commute to London for work and have been taking taxis to and from the station since 30 weeks because at rush hour the crush on the tube is so bad, and people are so self-absorbed that I worry about falling down the escalator/people squashing the bump/etc.

If it's only once a week, it probably won't cost you much more (and maybe even less) than driving yourself in any case.

mmm I just drive
I'm 36 weeks now and commuted by car for work until 39 weeks with my other pregnancies
i never realised that it was a problem tbh
