Or does it have things in it that could be harmful for the baby? Does anyone know?

Hang on, brewdog have a non-alcoholic beer?! This has just made my day! Off into town later which has a brewdog bar, may have to pay it a visit!

Fleamadonna, you might have just made my year! God I miss ale

Kopparberg have an alcohol free pear cider that's delicious

Ooooo brewdog! I've overdosed on bloody non-alcoholic beers but this might entice me back!

Yes it's absolutely fine!

You can get some really lovely ones too. The erdinger weißbier is really good, and as a pp posted actually has a decent amount of b vitamins in. And no weird taste to it.

I never really liked beer but I've had the odd one or two of these and have really enjoyed them.

I actually prefer it to regular strength - same with the ciders, you get a lot of low/no alcohol ones here and they are very nice.

Bavaria is probably my least favourite of the alcohol free beers, but it will do in a pinch. Beck's Blue is good at barbecues and I quite like the Erdinger. If you can find it, Bitburger's Drive is good too, tastes like proper beer.

I didn't know about Nanny State, thanks for the tip Runningupthathill82

YY to Brewdog Nanny State, it tastes like proper ale. Also M&S do a low alcohol (0.5%) Czech lager by Staropramen which is flipping gorgeous and only £1.50 for a big bottle.

Omg where do you get these, I've only found kopperberg non alcaholic and really didn't like it. Would love to try the stowford press cider

For the cider drinkers: I've found the M&S sparkling apple or pear juice is a good substitute - a bit sweeter than dry cider, but quite close to the Rekordelig/Kopparberg type.

There is alcohol - free Tiger - very nice stuff but hard to find.
Alco-free wines are generally gross except this lovely Echo falls (I think) infused sparkling drink with grape juice and green tea. I buy it in Tesco and it is about £3.50. Its really really nice - the closes I have found to taste of real stuff.

Fleamadonna - Brewdog had indeed been mentioned - i'd mentioned Nanny State just two posts above you! Great stuff, only came across it recently. Much darker than most of the other options out there, tastes delicious.

Kopparberg alcohol free is vile, IMO. So sweet it's more like Haribo than cider. They sell the Stowford Press alcohol free in my local pub, so I'm lucky there (but I am in a "craft beer" type area). Haven't seen it in the shops though.

Haven't found a drinkable alcohol free wine yet. The Sainsbury's one mentioned upthread is disgustingly sweet IMO, so if that's the best out there then I'm stuck!

Is the rule still NO alcohol at all or are you allowed a glass or two a week? Thinking about TTC no.3 and now remembering how boring it is not being able to drink at all! Boring but necessary of course. I thought I would stop missing it after a few months but I didn't at all!

Don't try cobra alcohol free, it's vile! Like drinking yeast!

One or two units a week is supposed to be fine, but advice goes back and forth because apparently women aren't supposed to be able to count and if you say a glass is fine, they'll knock back twenty then finish off with half a bottle of whisky. Or something. Hmm

A 175 ml glass of 12% wine is just over two units.

Bumblebee - YES. I ordered a bottle of Cobra alcohol free in an Indian restaurant a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't finish it. Was utterly foul...

Waitrose sell a good alcohol free (or low alcohol, can't remember which) lager - castelhauer or something like that. It's much nicer than becks or similar. If anyone is going to France, they sell a low alcohol kronenbourg and 1664 which is pretty much indistinguishable from the real thing (I brought so much back the car was rattling).

A friend currently living in Kuwait recommends Estrella damm zero, but I haven't managed to find it in the UK.

I find alcohol free cider/beer/wine just tastes sorta hollow and empty so I haven't bothered. Non-alcoholic wine in particular is the devils piss...bleurgh! Well, apart from the nice mulled wine I made at Christmas.

I haven't bothered even with the odd small glass of wine since I've been pregnant, not because I think it's wrong-I just haven't fancied it at all - which is odd because I've been a complete boozehound for the past 10 years...I'm actually a wee bit scared of starting drinking again after baby!

I second the Kronenbourg if you're heading towards France - why they don't sell it here is beyond me. We stocked up last time we went (as well as with jam and kiddy biscuits - booze cruise days behind us!).

Where can I buy nanny state?!

Runningupthathill82 · 10/08/2015 19:31

I buy Nanny State in my local Brewdog pub but haven't seen it in the shops - don't know if it's more readily available in Scotland than down here?

What about the alcohol-free Erdinger? Is that still around? It's quite nice. Weiss beer.

Agree that the Koppaberg cider is incredibly sweet. I had the raspberry and blackberry version at the weekend and it was identical to fizzy ribena! Not bad as such... but just not a replacement for an alcoholic drink.

Agree the Cobra is disgusting. Where do you buy the Brewdog from?

I bought a case of Nanny State direct from them online.
