Today I have a ridiculous migraine. Started with zig zags in front of my eyes, and is now splitting head and dizziness and feeling queasy.
Went to health food shop and they gave me a Migrastick, which she said was fine to use in pg. So I used it. Then read on box that its not recommended in pg!!
So, two questions - IS it ok in pg? And has anyone got any migraine relief suggestions - eg is migraleve ok to take ?
Ps I'm almost 17 weeks. X

migraleve is ok to take yes

Migrastick won't have been tested on pregnant women, but it doesn't contain any medications so it should be fine (effectiveness may be very very limited though!).

Migraleve should only be used if your doctor is okay with it as the anti-sickness part hasn't been thoroughly tested in pregnancy.

Imigran should not be used.

Thanks, folks. Migrastick is peppermint and lavender oils so not sure if there's a problem with them - info is contradictory on the net.

Could there be a link with the fact I've been reducing my dosage of progesterone cream...? If so, should this be a worry?

Not much you can take IME. I had a couple early in pg and then thankfully none after.

If they continue see the doc but I just used pparacetamol and one of the sticks you describe. Plus lying in a dark room with a flannel on my head!

just a migraleve is cobtra indicated in pregnancy and it can cause abnormality in the babies brain development. You can take paracetemol or some other medications as above with drs advice but the next optionw will all have a element of risk.. Migraines just suck! Im opting for fat coke.. it seems to work as well as anything to ward them off!
