I used something called Hay Max - which is meant to catch the pollen before it enters your nose - that and a sea water spray for when I got really bunged up.

Oh that's miserable, poor you. Mine is at its worst ATM.

I second saline nasal spray, also saline eye drops for itching (just as effective as anti-histamine dtops IME).

Went to doc about this yesterday - you can use Beconase nasal spray and sodium cromoglicate eye drops, one squirt of each in the morning is doing it for me and I'm around horses all the time

You have to talk to your doctor because although there are only a few things you must NOT use, many of the other (including Beconase and Piriton) have small potential risks (usually because of lack of testing), so the risks and benefits need to be weighed up.

Haymax and saline spray don't contain any chemicals that are harmful though.

My doc very kindly allowed me to have Loratadine and also some Piriton (for very bad days), but im a lot further on than you, so defo worth checking with your doc.

Hope it passes soon for you

Piriton is fine according to my GP, many prescribe it to pregnant ladies for various things. Only the quick acting stuff, not the one a day dose.

I have been using HayMax and as long as you use it properly, remember to put it on before going out etc and keep reapplying it does seem to help. I'm normally streaming without Piriton but I do seem better. I have taken Piriton once or twice when I have been really stricken, but I do try to avoid drugs despite being told they're ok.

I never usually get hayfever, but as Im pregnant, got it quite badly last week.

I sourced some local honey (ie made from hives 10 k away) and ate half a jar and it cured me within 48 hrs.

my dad swears by this and has been doing the same for years. He takes a teaspoon a day at the beginning of the season.

Comb honey is best, but normal works ok too.

I am 23 weeks and have been using piriton (Not the once a day ones the one every 4 hours or so!) anyway I still only take them when I need them but it's such a relief, I ended up calling the MW when I was about 7 or 8 weeks streaming and feeling awful have to say that Haymax stuff did nothing and I was constantly applying it!

The pharmacists are not allowed to advise anything to pregnant women really but MW said that Piriton has nothing that would actually damage baby etc... There's no point suffering hayfever on top of everything else whilst pregnant.

Give your Midwife a call if you are worried but as a general, I'd say you'll be fine (Though am not a Dr!) Good luck and hope all goes well!
