Induction? - When ?

I advised someone on her last week that the baby will come when it's ready.( she wanted it out at 35 weeks)
So . .I'm kinda changing my mind abit here, sorry ?
I had a slipped disk early on in pregnancy, which had got a bit better.
However, I am now 37.5 weeks, and it is starting to aggrivate me again, the signs are starting like when it first went.
The pain is terrible by the way, as you can imagine - worse than giving birth I thought !!
I am really worried that it will get worse the bigger the baby gets.
The physio told me that it could agrivate the disk once baby gets bigger.
Anyway, due to this, I was wondering when you can get induced?
Is 40 weeks too early to ask midwife? Or do they give you the option at 42 weeks?
I don't want it any earlier than when it 'should' be ready.
Seeing my midwife at the end of the week. But thought I'd see what my options are.
I know it should come when ready. ( DS1 was 3 days over, and had a great pregnancy/birth)

I've heard of people being induced early for SPD, so why not this. You may have to cry at them though. I hope you get the result you want.

Talk to your midwife. But induction does increase the chances of needing interventions because if the baby's not in the right position (engaged with plenty of pressure on cervix), labour is less likely to progress properly.

By 42 weeks, induction is usually on offer anyway because of the risk of being very overdue. But women do get induced at anything from 37 weeks because of Pre-eclampsia or severe SPD.

I couldn't move or walk last night, due to my back pain. But it seems to have eased off a bit today.
I would like to go naturaly, so I will do absolutley nothing for the next two weeks I think !!
But will chat to the midwife, as didn't realise the implications.
Thanks for the advice ladies! x
