When will I not feel this tired? Thinking of going to bed already and it's not even 5pm! My other 2 are watching a film and I am about to join them so I can close my eyes . . . . .I am going in for mother of the year award!

Hi Knackered! Unfortunately I cannot comment on when the tiredness ends, as this is my first pregnancy. However, just wanted to let u know that you are not alone! I am only 5 weeks (I think) and feel totally drained. I could cry every morning when the alarm goes off, and spend the evenings dozing on the sofa. The exciting life of pregnancy ey!

Meglet · 02/06/2010 18:48

It's normal, don't worry. I spent the first month or two of my first pregnancy flopped on the sofa sleeping. Took a couple of days off work as well as I felt drugged with sleepy-ness.

You'll perk up in a few weeks, if not sooner. Just rest when you can.

I was shattered for first three months and then tadah - it finished and was fine.

Good luck.

I am 10+4 and even though I also have two five year olds to run around after the tired fug that surrounds me is starting to lift, but 6-8 weeks I found particularly tiring, so bear with it, it will pass!

I'm 5 weeks and have been so tired the last 2 weeks, sleeping all the time so DH has been helping out with 2 year old. I suspect it was also due to a bad cold I'm having. Having said that, yesterday and today I'm still tired but don't seem to need that much sleep and now I'm panicking wondering what's wrong. Can't win..

Hi knackered...I am nearly 15 weeks now and the last couple of weeks or so have felt much more energetic. Couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel early on I was sleeping for England and did no exercise whatsoever. Feeling so much better now and have started swimming a lot too, which helps.

Hope this helps! Good luck

japhrimel · 03/06/2010 10:37

I'm 12 weeks and my energy is slowly returning. I've done more in the last 3 days than in the previous 3 weeks I think!

DastardlyandSmugly · 03/06/2010 11:27

I find the first three months exhausting. In my first pregnancy I couldn't stay awake for longer than a couple of hours at a time - used to have to go to the toilets for a cat nap at work. Second was even worse. The suddenly it gets better after about 12 weeks and then I feel like I'm on top of the world!

Hi there, I feel your pain - am 6 weeks and exhausted too. Just wanting to sleep all the time. And now the nausea has kicked in (joy!). Am hoping it won't be like my first (sick every day for 4 months )

Thankfully dh is home this week (half term) - am dreading next week when it's me and the dc. Lots of cbeebies I think...

Trying to see the sickness/tiredness as a positive confirmation that everything going ok...

Hello and ditto! Am 7 weeks and I've been sneaking off for a two-hour sleep in the afternoons and desperately trying to finish work in the evenings. Walking my usual walk home from work feels like climbing Everest! I'm really hoping it passes soon as I feel useless and finding it hard to be happy and excited as so tired!
