Passing "tissue" at 25 weeks - help please

I'm 25 weeks pregnant, and when I just went to the loo, there was a lump of "tissue" on the paper. I normally have quite a lot of discharge in pregnancy, that seems a normal thing for me, and it was mixed in that.
It was about 2 cm long, creamish at one end and gradually became pinkish-red at the other end. To be honest, it looked a bit like meat.

God, that sounds grim. Even worse, I have kept it as I plan on calling the midwife tomorrow, and figure she may want to see it!

I have no pain, no cramping, no bleeding and can still feel the baby kicking and thumping, so I don't think I need to call anyone urgently, but wondered if anyone had an opinion on this, either from personal or professional experience?

Many thanks, any advice greatly welcomed (though I may not be able to check answers for a couple of hours)

I'd ring the maternity unit tbh - it could be the mucus plug coming away, and I think they'd want you to come in and check that you aren't dilating or anything

No idea really, but if you're worried and don't want to wait until tomorrow you could call the delivery suite to speak to a midwife, the number should be on your antenatal notes.

in the absence of pain /bleeding, it is unlikely to be anything serious BUT I would always advise reporting anything unusual or worrying to a MW , so you can be properly assessed, advised and reassured

You poor thing, yes call the MW or ward. Hope you're ok

It could be part of your plug - ring the MW or ward. This doesnt mean you need to panic - I have had a couple of friends shed some of their plug this early and everything was fine.

I would definitely ring someone however.

Thank you for your replies and advice

I spoke to the midwife and, as Lulu said, as I had no other symptoms, she wasn't very concerned - didn't want to see me. Apparently "this can happen sometimes" and can't be explained. As I have had cervical ectropion in the past, she said it could be this....

I really didn't feel that the stuff was mucus-y, so didn't think it was my plug, otherwise I would have been much more panicky.

Have been advised to take it easy today, keep and eye on it and get in touch if I have any more, then she will have a look at me

Thanks again for your support
