Pregnant again and terrified

Hi I'm new and hoping to hear from people who had similar exp or with some success stories.

I'm in my early 30s and 8 weeks in my fifth pregnancy. 1st mc at 14 weeks, 2nd mc at 12 weeks, stillbirth at 24 weeks and premature birth at 35 weeks (lovely 2 year old boy now). Pregnancy was not planned and trying to be happy/positive but so difficult with my previous history I'm completely terrified and spend most of the time crying and getting stressed.

DH & family all very happy about pregnancy but I somehow feel "emotionless" as I feel that it can all be taken away in a blink of an eye. Wish I was more of an optimist

Any comments appreciated.

So sorry for all your losses. How awful.

I have had a 14w m/c and my DS2 was stillborn at 36 weeks. When pg with my DS3 it felt like I was waiting for something bad to happen the entire time. I didn't set up anything until the last minute as I couldn't believe I would get to take him home. But I did. The pregnancy actually went fairly smoothly and he is now a wild 2 year old!

Have you had any councelling? If not perhaps your GP could sort something out? And do you have a good midwife? Mine was worth her weight in gold and really helped me get through the 8 months.

Wish I had some useful advice for you, never very good at this sort of thing.

Sorry for all your losses. I haven't yet got a child, but had 2 miscarriages last year.

I found an early scan very reassurring - we got one privately at 8 weeks and I'm so glad we did.

Prof Regan at St Marys has shown that TLC (as she puts it) can improve outcomes in women with a history of recurrent miscarriage even if no other interventions are done. So I would see if you can get extra care on the NHS, and if not, go private for a scan.

Did they ever find any cause for any of your losses?
