I'm 38wks tomorrow and already convinced the baby is going to come at any minute (my 2nd), frequent braxton hicks that are getting more frequent and more uncomfortable.

I know I could have weeks still to go but I'm so fed up and need to whinge with people who know they shouldn't really be whinging but need to get it out anyway!

Anyone want to join me?

I'm only 30w and have been whingeing since about 24hr post-conception. So go on, let it all out!

virgo1979 · 27/05/2010 14:30

am 37 weeks tomorrow - finish work tomorrow and am just so bloomin uncomfortable. more concerned that have had no BH yet at all, which could be a blessing as there is so much to sort at home! all i want to eat is junk food and cant sleep at night, but then get worked up that i have to get up to go to work the next day, so cue more stress and more insomnia! baby is constantly kickin my sides, even wearing anything that touches my skin irritates me and annoyed at other half as he constantly has his nose touching his blackberry because he is so frantic at work! want to ram it up his wotsit and say 'hello??!! bit of attention over here wouldnt go amiss!!

hormonal, moi? no way.

notnowbernard · 27/05/2010 14:32

I have been BH for the last 4w or so

Is that really early to have them ?

It is 3rd pg

virgo1979 · 27/05/2010 14:34

oh forgot to mention the constant all over body itching and i look like worzel gummidge - hair straighteners have been used for about 8 months now. rubbish skin, no make up (why put it on when have to take it off at the end of the day?? extra work surely) when i wouldnt leave the house without mascara at least on before. and am so annoyed have started drinking coffee to stay awake in the day when i have been a martyr and avoided caffeine thus far.

end of rant.

could go on about all the concerns i have (first timer here) and how 5hit scared i am about the birth but i will just give myself an anxiety attack so better not.

Yay!

notnowbernard · 27/05/2010 14:36

All valid reasons to whinge, Virgo

LOVELY that you are finishing work tomorrow, though!

I remember stopping work 4w before my 1st... v fond memories! I slobbed about in a very professional manner. Make sure you do the same

virgo1979 · 27/05/2010 14:47

oops meant to say hair straighteners have NOT been used for 8 months now - hence the worzel gummidge look.

am not actually doing much work at work to be honest. am sitting on the net looking for cot bedding and nursing bras! that will be one less visit out the house i will have to make if i can have it delivered haha.

am planning on getting things like windows and carpets cleaned next week - mainly so i can just sit there and watch someone else work for once. though they do need doing...at least i dont have to do them!

notnow bernard - i had one BH about 4 weeks ago, nothing since. very strange.

bleedingheart · 27/05/2010 14:50

I actually just joined mumsnet so I could find solidarity in this. I don't want to upset my family by saying it out loud but I am SO bored with being pregnant. It's too hot, I'm too uncomfortable and the baby moves around exclusively in the most painful places! (hopefully goes without saying that I am happy and grateful to be pregnant!)

Only 29 weeks too!

mamatomany · 27/05/2010 14:57

Oh yes

37 weeks and completely over it, every night I am convinced this is it as the BH's are getting so painful and every morning I wake up still pregnant
It's far too active to be coming out any time soon, I'm sure the others sort of went to sleep 24 hours before birth, at least I know it's ok if a bit comfortable in there.

Baileysandbrie · 27/05/2010 15:04

Me too....

40+10 today and fed up.

I've been really lucky so far - up to my due date pregnancy was a breeze, but the last ten days I've just got bigger and bigger, and even though I know the end is in sight, everything seems to be hard work now!

To make things worse I was booked in for an induction on Saturday, but I got a call today to say they need to move it to Sunday as they're 'too busy' . Oh well, more time for things to kick off naturally I suppose..

Baileysandbrie · 27/05/2010 15:05

Oh, and I've not had a single Braxton Hicks - nothing....

Is that unusual? Midwife doesn't seem to concerned but seems strange to me

ChairmumMiaowGoingItAlone · 27/05/2010 15:09

Nice to know its just me.

I'm trying to stop myself telling everyone that the baby is headbutting me in the cervix, that I have piles , how horrible my heartburn is etc, but it just seems to keep spilling out!

H and I separated about 3 months ago and while we are getting on really well considering, I can't moan at him in the same detail as I did with DS! And when I complain about the BHs he starts to worry that I am actually going into labour.

I've got him chasing around town today to find a pharmacy that has stock of the right sort of gaviscon for me as I'm guzzling the stuff. I have a prescription, but our normal pharmacy ran out and didn't get any in their delivery.

Oh to be able to rest though! I do get a break when DS (2.4) goes to stay with H (3 nights a week) but I long for the feeling of my first pregnancy where I sat around all day and did basically nothing!

RudeEnglishLady · 27/05/2010 15:44

I'm 33 weeks. I want to cry all the time. Its set off by stuff like nature programmes, pictures of animals, the tiny clothes I bought, my DP's face, anything remotely sweet or cute. I can't stand it!!!

Oh and I have haemerroids and I am as big as a hippo.

And I don't know what to call the baby.

(and relax.... )

WickedWitchSouthWest · 27/05/2010 16:30

I'm 35+3 and KNACKERED, just all the time! If I sit down for too long my hips ache, if I walk or stand too long my ankles become cankles...if my pillow castle isn't exactly right at night it ruins my sleep, I so want to do some yoga but I'm too tired, I have a long list of jobs still to do so as much as I want baby sooner rather than 40+10 (you poor thing baileysandbrie I need to get all these niggly things done first!

...and breathe

EgonSpengler · 27/05/2010 16:36

I'm only 24 weeks, but by god I can't wait for this to be over. Don't get me wrong - DH and I are blessed and grateful but good grief... I have been itching like a mad woman since I was 15 weeks; I have no sleep due to excessive peeing at night, my hips aching and my 'on fire' skin; the ankle, knee, shoulder and hip on my right hand side aches constantly.

MagnumIcecreamAddict · 27/05/2010 16:41

Can I join too?

I'm 38+2 and VERY ready to meet this little one. Obviously wonderful to be having a baby but pregnancy is realy really horrible!
At least I'm off work now, but all the plans I've had for spring cleaning the house seem to have developed more into coffee with friends and afternoon naps!

I'm tired, grumpy, uncomfortable, have horrific heartburn and loads of BH's which are starting to get a bit on the painful side.

Nice to know there are others out there too!

WWSW - know exactly what you mean about the pillow castle - complete disaster if it gets moved!!

notnowbernard · 27/05/2010 16:44

The sleep thing is a bit of a nightmare, isn't it

I'm now limited to 1 vaguely comfortable sleep position: on my left side

If I'm on my right, my sciatic nerve flares up

Can't do back, feels like I'm being crushed

Nor front, obviously!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 27/05/2010 16:48

Oh yes, it has to be the left side. But sometimes if I get it slightly wrong I end up with cramp in my left shoulder blade! At the mo I have one pillow between my knees (but could do with another flattish one between my ankles too) and the long body pillow down my back to try and stop me rolling onto my back and waking up feeling sick. DH is away tonight so I fully intend on stealing his pillows and making it absolutely perfect

MissyMisdemeanour · 27/05/2010 16:58

I'm hearing you all- I'm 39 plus 3 today. I gave up work at 37 weeks, and thought I'd be able to do far more these last few weeks to keep me distracted. Unfortunately I've got pelvic girdle pain so I'm on crutches and have difficulty sleeping because of it. My day time is consumed with day time tv (yawn) and am really looking forward to having babs to give me something to do!

Anyone considering a membrane sweep at 40 weeks? I'm in two minds about it, not least because at all my antenatal appointments various third parties (trainee midwives, nurses etc.) interrupt the consultation, and I'll be on tenterhooks if someone puts their head round the door during a fiddle!

notnowbernard · 27/05/2010 17:03

I had a sweep at 40+7 with DC 2

It's hard to know if they 'work' or not, but I went into labour about 28hrs later

DC1 was late, too, so I will definitely be asking for one this time - prob if I go over by 7days

ChairmumMiaowGoingItAlone · 27/05/2010 17:04

Pillow arrangement is essential for any sleep at all. (I wake every 2 hours or so every night )

I have all 4 pillows in the king sized bed, DS's duvet as he sleeps with me and my feeding cushion, as well as a long sausage one that supports my bump and goes between my knees. That's for when the heartburn isn't so bad that I have to sleep propped right up!

Oh the joys.

OP posts:
WickedWitchSouthWest · 27/05/2010 17:14

oh I hadn't thought to use the feeding pillow for bump support, that sounds v comfy.

I'm tempted to go for a sweep if all else fails..doing raspberry leaf tea at the mo and planning on taking evening primrose oil from 39 weeks.

rb3 · 27/05/2010 17:15

Can I say hello?

40 + 8 and was doing fine until I got lots of symptoms last night and they all disappeared by this morning. I'm very lucky in having a very easy pregnancy so far but today is really frustrating. Every time he kicks I'm asking him "Are you ready to come out yet?"

Appointment for assessment on Monday.

notnowbernard · 27/05/2010 17:18

That sounds encouraging, rb3

With both DC I had 'stop-start' labours

But with both labour started within 3-5 days of the first 'false' start

So I'm sure it's not long for you now

sunshiney · 27/05/2010 17:20

Oooh a place to have a whinge I like it...

Baby due on saturday. I can handle everything except this muscle pain on the top left of my stomach, and the hip pain on the left side. It's excruciating, permanent sharp pain in my side.

Do have bh and regular heartburn and hormonal ups and downs and constant toilet trips, but they pale in comparison to every step hurting. Am housebound with a nearly three year old! Constant guilt about how much the telly is on, at least she goes to nursery in the morning three days a week.

How about that for an unashamed whinge!

good luck everyone

thegauntlet · 27/05/2010 19:44

Helloo... what a great thread...I have loved being pregnant, just now that I am on maternity leave I am getting seriously moany...39+4 today.

I spend the day trying to keep myself busy and then dH ( or not so dear H) comes home from work in a hump and is all unpleasant because Im off and he isn;t. This is not good and I totally concur with the lady with the blackberry husband....ATTENTION AND PAMPERING PLEASE!!!

I feel really huge but havent had any BH that I recognise. Occasionally get a few sharp pains up my va-va-voom and horrible cramp in my left lower rib. Does anyone else get this?

I say to sunshiney.... dont let the telly give you guilt. It is very intellectually developing, and YOU ARE PREGNANT IT IS OK....
