Dear all, I am 6 week pregnant and have no morning sickness at all. You must be wondering why am i complaining but I have read so many articles that lack of morning sickness is an indication of a early miscarriage. I am terrified i have the swollen breast and the frequet urinating but apart from that i dont feel pregnant. So far my HCG level is ok. I has one miscarriage last year at 6 week. Can anyone pls tell me if they went on to have healthy babies without any morning sickness..... thanks a lot

Davina

Not everyone gets morning sickness

also 6 weeks is quite early and it may kick in a week or so

am sorry you feel so anxious but if your HCG level is good then take heart

I have never heard the link between lack of MS and a miscarriage - i didn't really have MS with my first DC and all was well

BessieBoots · 26/05/2010 11:02

I had awful sickness with no1, and none at all with no2. Both were healthy and happy (and I had worried myself stupid after reading on here that if you're sick with one and not the other, that's a big warning sign. Utter shite, I'm glad to report)

Congratulations!

I got MS with #1 after 8 weeks, and with this one between 6 and 7, it is still early yet. And some people are lucky enough not to get any at all, you may just be one of the lucky ones.

I think ' you feel sick, that's a sign of a strong health y pregnancy' is something people say to MS-sufferers to cheer them up and encourage them. I don't think though, that it means the reverse is true - lack of MS means you are not having a strong healthy pregnancy.

I think, having read around on it and asked GP it just means you are lucky!

Sure, there will be people who had MC who didn't have MS, just as there will be people with MS who do miscarry. But the likelihood is those MC were always going to happen due to embryo/fetus not developing properly - something going wrong with all the millions of cell divisions and genetic coding that happens in the first few weeks and nature taking its course making it a non-viable pregnancy.

Good luck and try to relax. It's scary and everyone worries but it is also a special hopeful time.
PS: I was fine at 6 weeks too. Then felt sick and exhausted week 8, 9 and 10

I have two gorgeous, healthy children and didn't have MS with either. Try not to worry, hopefully you are just lucky like I was

Honeybee79 · 26/05/2010 11:48

Try not to worry - every pregnancy is different and not everyone suffers from morning sickness. I had no sickness or nausea at all. Nothing. Was really worried too but it was all OK and am now 21 weeks and hopefully things are still OK!

lal123 · 26/05/2010 11:50

I didn't have any morning sickness at all with my 2 dds - so try not to worry and count yourself lucky!

japhrimel · 26/05/2010 11:50

I didn't get the sickness till after 7 weeks, so I really wouldn't worry yet!

As you're getting so stressed, why not book a private scan for 8 weeks to reassure you?

Rinnyx · 26/05/2010 12:06

Try not to worry to much it will not help x

With DD I had 7 months of MS then last year I had 2 MC (the first I did not know til it happened) but with the 2nd I lost it just before 6 weeks and had afew days of MS before the sad event happened.

I am now 16 weeks pg and have had NO MS at all, baby is fine, scan was great, felt baby move since 14 and half weeks and we heard the heartbeat yesterday.

Just try to think you might be one of the lucky ones and not have any

EMS23 · 26/05/2010 12:13

I'm 14 weeks and have had no MS but drove myself mad worrying it was a sign I would miscarry.
I know at least 2 other women who had no MS and have healthy children now.
Count yourself lucky so far!

MrsGangly · 26/05/2010 12:23

I didn't have any sickness until 10 weeks and then had hyperemesis.

A friend who is having twins has never had morning sickness throughout her pregnancy so far.

We are now both around 30-something weeks.

MrsDmamee · 26/05/2010 13:47

I had no MS at all with my 2 ds's.
I'm currently 35 wks with dc3 and was sick from 5/6 weeks.

PatsyIsPreggers · 26/05/2010 13:53

Hi Davina000

I'm 19+3 now and had no morning sickness whatsoever. I think everyone's different and some people suffer really badly with it while others don't. My friend who's 35 weeks also had no morning sickness. All the books seem to focus on it so I was also worried when I didn't get it, but friends who have had bad morning sickness just told me to count myself lucky. Try not to worry too much.

peanutpie · 26/05/2010 14:34

Hi
I've had 3 miscarriages and I'm now 30 weeks with my second baby. With my miscarriages I have found I tend to feel really sick, for a very short period of the day, at 3-4 weeks pregnant. I also definitely know I'm pregnant really early on with sore boobs.

However with my pregnancies that have gone past the early stages I haven't tended to know I was pregnant at all until 5-6 weeks. I also think that feeling nauseous doesn't really start until 7 ish weeks for me.

Obviously we're all different but personally I've felt more confident the later my symptons start.

The early stages are really hard when you've had a miscarriage. It can feel like an awful waiting game. Pamper yourself as much as possible!

ReshapeWhileDamp · 26/05/2010 14:40

You're six weeks - it can take a lot longer than that for pregnancy symptoms to kick in! Sorry about your previous MC, I know how stressful it can make the first trimester of a subsequent pregnancy.

With DS, I had about one week where I felt queasy with certain foods, and that was it. This time round, I've had waves of nausea and dizziness, but it comes and goes - one week it's quite bad, and another week it's less prevalent, and now today, I have it back again! (9 wks) FWIW, my friend didn't have any nausea until 12 weeks, and then kept it for the rest of the pregnancy. And you really don't have to have nausea to have a successful pregnancy. My mother didn't, and last time I had virtually none.
