Cloth nappies - help!!!

I really want to use cloth nappies when Bab is born (only 7 weeks to go now ), and i'd originally planned on buying a full 'birth-to-potty' pack from Mother's Aid. However, doing a little more research, there appears to be hundreds of different types of nappies on the market and i'm getting quite bamboozled by it all. I currently have a trial pack of Kushies Ultras (complete all-in-one nappy), a trial Mothers aid nappy (shaped terry inner nappy with separate outer wrap), and i've just ordered a trail Bambino Mio (cotton nappy that folds up within a separate waterproof wrap). Am i better off just buying one complete system, or mixing and matching dependant on Bab's needs as he grows? Any previous experiences with either of the above nappies/suggestions/recommendations/general advice? Would be most grateful!

PS. sorry for long post - as you can see, i'm getting a tad stressed by it all.

pop onto the nappy thread or do a search under that thread you'll find tons of advice from people who use cloth nappies.
Just started using them at 14mth and utilised the advise on that thread a lot.

mix and match until u find a system u like & then invest in that.

I can also recomend getting intouch with a cloth nappy advisor/agent. they have loads of different types for you to see and feel and have used them on their own children. Some do hire kits so you can try everything out before you buy anything and make expensive mistakes. You can find most of the companies listed here

You could fill in the survey on thenappylady website, they will give you a recomendation based on things like budget, drying facilities etc nappylady

Dont know why everyone hates Kushies so much because i thought they were fab! Still use them on jess!

Will agree that tots bots are fantastic though, especialyl at night.

I would stick to trial packs until you are 100% sure what suits your baby..... also visit babykind's website, they are brilliant, and you can buy one nappy and if you dont like it, return it for a 70% refund!

i know they arent the cutest of nappies, but they did the job! Ive got 21 first size ones for bump..... really must think about selling some of them as i know ill get sucked into tots for this one too. Will be ordering size 1 tots next month in preparation for bump!

Thanks Everybody, esp Pootlepod - i've taken your advice and ordered the incentive trial kit form Kittykins. Serious bargain. The rate i'm going with picking up various trial packs, i won't need to buy a single-manufacturer complete system!

BTW, i was a complete nonce earlier - it's Motherease, not Mother's Aid! Doh - blaming my pregnancy hormones

That's a shame about the mothers aid, thought there was sa new nappy to try!!

You might find that you don't want to have all the same nappies, e.g. I use tots in the morning 'cos they need to last longer but kissaluvs in the afternoon. I also have some pockets for out and about. Certainly makes life more fun!

No-one's mentioned Cotton Bottoms but I'd advise against them. They seemed to leak very quickly so unless you're organised and change them frequently, there are lots of wet trousers! Of course perhaps I'm just a slattern
