Really flipping bloated at 9 weeks

I am just 9 weeks and still using progesterone pessaries twice a day as I had IVF. I look noticibly pregnant but a scan has told me there is just one baby in there!

Technically I have been pregnant before, for about 8 weeks but had a missed miscarriage.

Could I be looking so pregnant because this is not my 1st pregnancy or maybe because I am 40 and I have no muscle tone? Maybe it's just the progesterone?

Is anyone else feeling like they just can't hide it anymore or scared that they are going to get loads of 'how pregnant are you' comments?

When I was pg with DS (non IVF preg) I was soooo bloated that by 10 weeks I was in maternity trousers as normal clothes were so uncomfortable!

I wore maternity trousers today. When I wear dresses I have a really large bump, though not a fully 'popped' one if you know what I mean.

I just carried my last ds at 40 and was told by my mw that I had great muscle ton. All I do is walk and eat well. So I don't think it's down to age, don't be so hard on yourself.

I don't know about IVF, but I assume drinking plenty of water moves on fluid retention, and a good diet with plenty of veg. At the end of my last pregnancy my ankles were huge so I ate salads with 3 different kinds of onions, it really helped.

Thank you - I probably need to eat more veg. Am drinking lots of water though.

I really was quite out of shape when I got pregnant as for some weird (middle aged) reason I had put over a stone on in the six months leading up to the IVF.

Maybe I am just not that used to being this weight. weirdly my weight has stayed the same since I found out I was pregnant, while my belly has grown.

I would go back to your gp because I know you have to take it easy with IVF so it's not like you can exercise much but walking would help with fluid retention. It is hard changing shape because it's so unfamiliar but you'll be able to tackle it once your baby is born, it's not forever. Nettle tea is good for fluid retention. I always drink it when I'm pregnant.
