Quick question, just out of interest, when did you all feel your babies move? More specifically, NOT a first baby, which seems to be around 18 weeks or so... Did you feel subsequent babies moving sooner?

Ist DC 16wks
2nd DD 15wks
3rd DD 16wks

But I know a woman who didn't feel her second move until just before her 20wk scan. She was quite worried esp as she'd felt DC1 around 17wks but hospital told her although 19/20wks is late it's not outside the realms of 'normal' if that makes sense.

If you're worried, go up and let them strap you onto a monitor for half an hour.

This pg (2nd DC): 14 wks but then nothing til 16 wks then every day from 16wks on (now nearly 18 wks).

DD1 at 20 weeks, anterior placenta
DD2 18 weeks

DS1 18 weeks
DS2 20 weeks ish (it was later anyway!)

Freakishly early but then I am freakishly small so they hadn't got much room and must have kept bumping into me.

Thanks!
I dont actually remember when I felt my son move - I'm sure it was about 18 weeks. I'm only 11w 4d at the moment, so obv wont feel it for at least a few weeks.

20 weeks with both

Anterior placenta with both

Bought a dopler thingy for dd2 as I kind of knew I'd have a big gap between first scan and reassuring movements. It was ace and I found hb from 13.5 weeks on.

Congratulations btw.

If I sat down really quietly and concentrated on listening to my body (after a glass of fruit juice), I could feel the little bubble like bobbings at about 15/16 weeks - but not every time I did it until about 18/19 weeks and I was still wondering whether it was wind or not (not that I've ever had wind really). When I went for my 20 week scan and could put see and feel what was happening simultaneously, that's when I started to believe myself more. If your placenta is anterior, it'll take longer for you to notice. And babies do go to sleep and seem to have an in built knowledge of when you're watching, so they go quiet suddenly - especially when Daddy wants to feel what's going on.

The strange feelings are when you get a somersaulting baby! And then when you can see what's happening on the outside, that gets a bit surreal too. I saw my LO swap sides yesterday (36wks) and some people can even make out the shape of feet. Tis fun - but strange.

I've been feeling this baby since 13 weeks - NO ONE will let me have this though, everyone says "it's just wind". This is my third pregnancy, so I sorta know the difference between a fart and a baby by now . It's not kicking, it's too early for that, it's a sort of rolling feeling. The best way I can describe it is the feeling you get when you go over a hill in the car. I'm 16 weeks today, and I'm still getting this rolling feeling (albeit a bit stronger) so it must have the been the baby all along

16 weeks, and I'm almost sure I felt him move at 14, but prepared to believe it was my guts, bubbling away! Ignore MWs and other people who say 'oh, you won't feel anything until at least 18 weeks, anything earlier is wind' - IME, by the time you're pregnant, you have a lifetime's experience of what wind feels like!

Oh, just noticed that BlueSunday has posted more or less that! Well there you are, she bears me out!

I felt "something" this week end, I was 14 weeks on Monday so thought it was way too early, especially as it's my first pregnancy...but I asked my mum, who is a midwife, and described the feeling to her (it felt like a goldfish doing a little somersault, or bubbles), and she reckons it was the real thing! Also as soon as I felt it I felt this happyness, even before I knew for sure it wasn't wind I reckon just follow your instincts on this. Looking forward to more!
