Hi to all,
Have been bleeding on and off for two went for 12wk scan and was told I have a subchorionic haematoma (blood clot) which is nearly the size of the baby, the baby is growing well moving and heartbeat but have been told to come back in two for another scan. Im really worried that I may lose my baby Im really scared, has anyone had the same problem....

Hi,

A lot of subchorionic haemotoma's reabsorb and are not a problem and they are very very common. I had one last pregnancy so have some first hand experience. If I were you I would be pushing now for a consultants appointment and pushing hard. My situation was not handled well and I was seen far too late, had I been treated earlier the outcome might have been different. You need to speak to them about the possibility of the haemotoma not reabsorbing and see if they can put you on thinners or find a solution to disolve the haemotoma before it gets any bigger.

Hey there, yes I had this too. Bled from around 6 weeks to 17 weeks.....at all my early scans the clot was bigger than my DD. My consultant warned me it may burst and bleed, which it did.......cue lots of extra scans but thankfully all was ok.

My DD is now 2.8 and I'm just about to pick her up from 2s group

Just make sure that they scan you regularly and rest up......Good luck!

Hi there
I got this as well. I bled from week 6 to 10. Very stressful but everything is ok now. The blood cloth was reabsorbed. Drink plenty of water. Good luck!
