When do you have to start sleeping on left side?

I keep reading in baby books to sleep on your left side. I am only 8 weeks so no bump etc - do I have to worry about this yet. If I sleep on my left side that means facing dh who sleeps on the left of bed but faces inwards when asleep, and him breathing out on my face while asleep is pretty uncomfortable.

this thread really highlights how much MWs should really tell women about what position is preferrable to sleep in. I didn't know this with my first and when I had to go in for monitoring the day before having DS, the MW suggested I don't lie on my back - did no one tell me this? Eh no - but thanks for telling me when I'm now 41 weeks pregnant

Better to have some knowledge early on about what position is most favourable to lie in when asleep than left to the last minute.
