Using a soft carrycot for daytime naps - safety?

Does anyone know if it is safe to use a soft carrycot like this one for daytime naps?

Have been offered one (unused) from a good friend of my mothers and was thinking of using it downstairs in the early days. It doesn't fit our buggy so would be using it on its own on the floor (maybe on a playmat for more comfort)

Any thoughts?

Fab - the only pet in the house (apart from DH!) is one cat who I'm hoping will continue his love affair with our bed but will put some more thought into the best way of keeping him and baba seperate

That is definitely vital.

You can get cat nets but I wouldn't trust them. I had a similar pram but did have the wheels so it was off the ground and my cat never went in it. Found her in his cot once though!

Also, think about the cat on your bed as you might want the baby to sleep in with you and if they are in your room it isn't a good idea to have the cat in there too.

Our cat was banned from our bedroom the day we tested positive for having dc1.

DH and I were talking about the cat the other day in terms of his access to the same rooms as the baby, guess we really need to get our skates on with only 3 months to go.
