I am terrified - After only coming on for 1 day last week and feeling increasingly tired I decided to do a test this morning - the result - positive!
Whilst I do want another baby my other half is going to go MAD - our DS is only just 7 months and he demanded I have a termination when he found out I was pregnant with him (I obviously refused and we managed to muddle through and he is now extremly happy that we have our son).
Not only that I have taken a sleeping tablet in the last month and have been on 3 different prescribed hayfever treatments, and merrilly been have a bottle of wine every other night or so and also consuming copious amounts of cigs.
(sorry for typos - can't be bothered to check)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My two are only a year apart and like sobernow everyone thought it was a mistake, well it was sort of, they were supposed to be 15 months apart, but when you are on the 18th floor of a hotel in Paris, DD stuck to one's breast and your cap in the car what does a girl do - get pregnant! I also fell pregnant again when DS was 6 months old and I had been sterilised, but that is another story.

Now 17 years down the path, I can say the first 16 years are the easiest, the scarey bit is coming up, DD looking at Unis, driving a car, DS on a scooter, all I do is worry about where they are and when will they be home, The house is going to be very empty soon. DD says I should get a baby girl from China to fill my time again.

well, have told him, and it went okay. We had spoken about trying when ds was a year so I just said that its happened sooner rather later.
I have asked him not to tell anyone (esp. Ex wife and sd's) until I say, which will be about 12 weeks.
Last time he told EW she told the children, I didn't think that was her place, it was his!
Still, there you go, I'm off to the "anyone due march 2004" thread....

Thank you too everyone for the advice and especially you lot with the small gaps between kiddy winks - at least it has shown me that there is a positive side to a small gap!

You've got over-excited that's all.

There's seventeen months between my first and second and I totally recommend it. They're now 6 and 7 and still playing together even though they are girl and boy.

Congratulations

Something strange is going on with my "clear blue one step" tests.... I looked at the one I did yesterday that said positive this morning and there is a negative reading there? Whats going on, am I preggers or not - Has anyone else had this with clear blue. They are different to the last time I used them as in a postive result shows as I + and a negative one shows as a -.

Yesterday is was definatly a + (I know cos I showed my sister and she agrees) but today a -????

The tests don't keep! I think the instructions say that the "results are readable for X minutes" or something similar.

spikeycat · 10/07/2003 16:36

Oh, they always have before, but there you go! On the advise that I have read before I went and got a boots one, and this one still says positive so I think you can safely say I am

Cheers all, I will stop pestering you with this thread now

I did about 20 tests too. Don't worry! just can't believe it's true. you will in 8.5 months though Congratulations

Broody · 11/07/2003 10:34

Congratulations Spikey Cat.

I am determined not to get myself worried or upset about the birth....Although I already had a nightmare last night about it. My last experience was horrid, 37+, back to back, incredibly painful and resulted in ds being in special care with convulsions and breathing problems. (Note - he is fine now)
I suppose I will cross that bridge when I come to it, maybe an elective c-sec??!!

monkey · 11/07/2003 20:43

me too - maybe.

I'm really encouraged by this thread. DD was born last Jan after 6 IVF cycles and we're about to have another attempt, this time with frozen embryos, as I'm 41 and can't hang around much longer. I've been worried about dealing with a young baby and a 16-month old baby at the same time.
