Pelvic pain

I've been getting pelvis pain and pubic bone pain but over last few days it's been getting very painful and today i've woke up and can barley walk. Got shooting pains down my side at top of my leg in line with my bum.

Has anyone else had this? Was it that bad that you were induced or had to get a section?

PSD? I think that's what it's called (?), where your bone separates a bit too much. I had this with one of my ds's and it was bloody sore. I got a big elasticated belt this to take some of the baby weight off, and that helped a bit. Lying down and geting up off the bed got fairly difficult, and walking was fairly unpleasant but managed without stick or wheelchair (it can get very bad for some unlucky people).
I got the belly belt off the MW, but I think these days, you can buy them in Mothercare and other maternity shops. It would be worth a try, and might make you more comfortable.

I had a normal vd, but have heard of people getting sectioned if they have really bad psd, as the can't open their legs to push out the baby - I don't think that's very common though.

I don't know about induction though - would there be a benefit to you? Obviously you'd have a shorter pregnancy so suffer less psd pain, but induction is no cakewalk so maybe over all suffering would be the same???

There's a thread SPD Sofa support still going in the pregnancy bit, try looking at that

Sounds like you have PGP (Pelvic girdle pain) 1 in 5 pregnant women get it - it's not rare at all.

Phone up your GP and he should be able to refer you for some physiotherapy - they can give you support belts and crutches if they help, and show you some muscle exercises. It doesn't help everyone, but it's certainly worth a go.

It gets worse throughout the pregancy (usually, at least) but shouldn't affect you during labour and should be better once you've given birth. Definitely worth getting help though - the last few weeks drag and you don't want to be in pain all that time if you could be getting help.
