Lots of Braxton Hicks today - does it mean anything?

Am currently 32+5 with my third and don't remember ever having this many BH contractions. Have been having them since very early on in this pregnancy and it never really bothered me but just seems neverending today and just a bit more uncomfortable than usual. Anyone else have experience of this?

I had them with my 3rd and 4th child for 2 months almost every night before i actually went into labour. The strength of them did increase as time went on and towards the end they could last all day. There were a couple of real false starts in there though and i did end up in hospital on a monitor with every midwife convinced i'd started - and then i'd be back home again when they stopped. They told me i'd done the right thing to go in and get checked out.
I'd say if there's ANYTHING unusual or that makes you nervous or worried go and get it checked out or phone your midwife (or the hospital midwife) and ask for advice no matter what time it is. It's a pain waiting around but never worry that you shouldn't be there, you're pregnant and you're VERY important!
Good luck.

Someone told me when I was expecting that BH are just your body getting into practice for the real thing, so they will probably get stronger and more frequent as you get closer to your due date.

Mostly they are really nothing to worry about - a good sign that your body is getting ready to have the baby, but if in any doubt do please talk to your MW about it.

37 weeks with DC5 here, IMHO they do get stronger with each subsequent pregnancy.
They've been quite uncomfortable here, but have managed to get DC5 fully engaged now, so hopefully not too much longer to go.
I wouldn't worry too much, it's just a PITA though.

Thanks everyone. I feel reassured and it's not too bad today.
