Hi

Not that I am actively wishing to be sick or anything, the opposite in fact, but I am amazed that at 6 weeks my appetite is still fine. Normally, when not pregnant I get sick really easily. Like, I get sick and retchy when I have a snotty cold, or a bad hangover, or even when I am physically shattered, or have exercised too hard.

Anyway, was wondering at how many weeks in people here started to feel sick? And stopped feeling sick? And is it true that only 50% of women experience nausea? I was under the impression that the figure was higher...

I am 24 weeks and was not nauseous or sick once. A bit 'off' for a few weeks (couldn't face eating) but other than that just have had a mega-appetite! Almost everyone else I know who has been pregnant has been throwing up and feeling really ill, I'm one of the lucky ones who really has never felt better!

and PS I suffer from REALLY bad motion sickness (I got seasick on a pedalo once!) so it doesn't necessarily mean that motion sickness = bad morning sickness.

No sickness here either - yet (11+2). I feel a bit queasy on the tube though and get a proper raging hungry-sickness if I don't eat (but normally I anticipate this by having a meal every 2 hrs ). My mum didn't have any MS either, maybe there's a genetic element?

Both times it came on a 6 weeks and went at 16 weeks. Was worse with my son than with my daughter.

I was lightly nauseous during my first trimesters, but nothing more. My mother was similar and I think it does tend to be inherited.

I remember What To Expect.. saying that less than half of pregnant women will actually throw up (even once) due to morning sickness, but obv more than that will feel a bit nauseated.

Remember that some women who are "six weeks pregnant" dated from LMP will have conceived two weeks ago, whilst some will have conceived five weeks ago - depending on length of cycle and time of ovulation, so naturally the time at which symptoms arise will vary.

With DD it started at 7/8 weeks until about 16 weeks. Constant strong nausea and absolute exhaustion. I couldn't face food at all and ate basically plain bread or mashed potato and (oddly!) strawberry chewits that whole time. I lost weight in the first tri.
With this preg I'm 5.5 weeks at most and been feeling sick for a week. Eating something and keeping still seems to help so I'll probably balloon this time round.

Mine started 6 +1 and lasted until around 14 weeks.
