I am going to try and get an appointment with my very unsympathetic GP this week. I will not be signed up with a midwife for another 2 weeks (long story)

I have had an umbilical hernia since my last pregnancy that is protuding out 2 inches at the belly button at 18 weeks and I'm very worried what will happen when I get really big. I am not expecting a solution for this until I have finished having a family, but should I worry about any serious complications during pregnancy?

On top of that I have had visible haemorroids for 4 weeks that feel like my bum is falling out every time I poo . What treatment options have you been offered? Are there any natural remedies I could try?

Feeling very low
Any advice gratefully received.

Corncerning the paraumbilical hernia, if you experience any pain on it or around your belly at the line of your bellybutton, no matter how bad or not so, get yourself to the dr pronto.

mine was horrific having ds1, i put 4stone on with him and it was disgusting to see at the end. I too was told it would not be sorted till Id finished having children.

When ds1 was about 10months I got pain round my stomach, like a elastic band squeezing me. went to the dr and he said the hernia had twisted and to avoid strangulation get to the hospital straight away. I had it popped back in that night and the next day they gave me an op to put mesh infront of it.
no problems since.

was worried it would break or something with ds2, but it stayed in place, now 28wks pg with dc3 and no probs so far.

I've had stage 4 thrombosed piles, cityangel. Although mine appeared in the 3rd trimester. I'm currently 39 weeks and they are vanishing, bizarrely enough, although I'm sure they will make a dramatic return post birth.

My GP was very sympathetic (actually, he sucked his teeth and said, "I've never seen anything that size before") and he prescribed Proctosedyl cream and suppositories. That can only be used for a week. After that I was given Xyloproct cream which can be used for 3 weeks. I was also seen by a specialist (via BUPA) who said that he would be prepared to operate under GA to remove them (at 36 weeks PG! I declined his kind offer) as apparently, once they are stage 4 (visible and external) it is too late for lancing or injecting.

You must keep your stools very soft with prunes, Fybogel, loads of water, whatever it takes. Use the moist toilet paper or a bidet after a BM. Witch hazel compress - very soothing. Wash, wash, wash them, that will help the swelling and disperse any possible thrombosis.

This is my longest post ever, I think! It's horrible and you have my sympathy.
