Have just had a midwife's appointment and she asked me to take my sample home with me to throw away as they're not allowed to do it themselves any more (because of Health and Safety? or something - I was too amazed to listen properly so I'm not quite sure what the reasoning was).

Has this happened to anyone else? Doesn''t it seem a bit mad? Won't everybody just drop their little bottles into the nearest public bin on the way out of the doctors, which you would think would be even more of a risk than keeping them all in the hazardous waste bin?

I have to reuse the same pot the entire time. Last time it was either pee on a stick or in a platic cup which they wrote your name on, IMO much better than reusing the nasty platic tube fore 9 months!

why on earth is it worse to take it back with you than taking it there??

I can't believe how many people thinks it's disgusting to reuse the same pot, no wonder we have such a wasteful culture!

i really don't care if I get a bit of my own wee on my hand, I just wash it. And as for it leaking in my bag, I have a sandwich bag (that I reuse!) that I put the pot in.

The POAS method seems the most accurate and least wasteful way to me. Why doesn't everyone do that?
