At is it at our expense?

I know these things work very well for some people and that my situation means i am in the minority. They are fun and when it is all going swimmingly quite a nice thing.

I think I am about to miscarry for the second time in 5 months. I had an mc earlier in the year which was indicating by these tests failing to 'click over' from 2-3 to 3+ until a week after they should have done and then tailing back off to 2-3.

This time (again ) they failed to 'click over' on friday when I had expected it - and saturday said still only 2-3. I was feeling less tired/sick and more worried so this was not unexpected. In the afternoon yesterday i thought i might as wel use the tests i had bought and did one which came up 3+

I am going to sound mad now but been ttc for a while... this morning I did 2 tests both came up 2-3.

Cried a lot. went out shopping came in did another one which took AGES to come up with a result and then came up 1-2. DH came into the room and i said 'my hormones are bottoming out' grabbed ANOTHER test dipped it in the same sample and it came up 3+

I have wasted loads of money and please don;t come on and tell me I am a loon and it's all my fault. I can't help getting my hopes up.

I am posting this not to ask if i am miscarrying but more to ask if this product should be available when it can evidently give extremes of different results?
has anyone else experienced such problems or spoken to clearblue about it? I did ring the helpline on saturday and she said not to worry about differing results but to be honest it was not much consolation

sorry for huge post

It will be fine. Just because you are symptomless it means nowt.

Step away from the CB.

You must be terrified.

I have had millions of children and each pregnancy is different. There is no set path to each one.

I am currently 6 weeks + and am burying my head. I feel preg but just feel like i am pushing my luck?

Crikey it's stressful

AuntyViral · 25/04/2010 20:37

O M G !!!

I just had a long conversation with dp about how you were on here and why....?????

WOW ( we are as mad as one another ....well...nearly!)

Ha!

See mad together.

I have not taken a CB. >

llareggub · 25/04/2010 20:47

AuntyVIral, I don't know if this will help or not but I had a similar experience last year. By my LMP I was 5 weeks and the sonographer was very pessimistic. I told her about my long cycles and she told me that made things a bit more hopeful.

I also used the Clearblue conception thingy; it was a freebie from musmnet and like a fool I decided that it was foolproof, and as the Clearblue tallied with my LMP I was distraught after the inconclusive scan.

The results of that inconclusive scan was a healthy 8 pound boy who celebrates his first birthday this week. If I ever decide to go through the stress of those early pregnancy days again I will be stepping AWAY from the Clearblue sticks!

Good luck.

Aw thank you Liaghen are you preg again? I thought you were.

AV what was your other name?

LL that was a great post, v reassuring.

What time is the scan on Tuesday? I will pace the floor. Due date?

Mine is 16th Dec. I am usually 10 days late. Oh dear...

liahgen66 · 25/04/2010 21:03

No LG&T, I was, sadly we lost it, our 2nd loss since our little May 07 bundle. Am coming up to testing Weds this week, am feeling timidly optomistic,

16/26 dec, at least you'll be at home surrounded by turkey and discarded wrapping paper.

DuelingFanjo · 25/04/2010 21:12

Hi there, I just wanted to register my interest in this thread as I had a scare recently. My first digital (afternoon wee) came up as 3+ at about 5 weeks, my second (at 5 +4 first morning urine) was 2-3 and then a third one later that same day came up as 3+

I had a blood test done and had a high hCG but because of the lack of symptoms I still feel quite scared. I had a MMC last year and this pregnancy is the result of IVF so I am on progesterone pessaries. My scan is on Thursday and I am terrified.

Not been tempted to test again, that way madness lies IMO. I just don't trust the digital tests at all.

I thik I am due around 13th Dec.

largeginandtonic · 25/04/2010 21:17

Liahgen i am so sorry I really hope this Wednesday is a + for you. It would be lovely to do it all together again.

largeginandtonic · 25/04/2010 21:20

DF it sounds good. The high HCG levels are a brill sign.

You must be scared witless. Hope the scan shows a bean. Try not to worry about symptoms.

I feel dreadful and will stop moaning about it now in light of this thread. You could all share some of my constant sickness if you like. Only if it makes you feel better

liahgen66 · 25/04/2010 21:21

I am crossing my own fingers, I'll let you know.

congrats fango Hope you have a very healthy and boring 8 mths.

DuelingFanjo · 25/04/2010 21:27

sorry liahgen, I posted without seeing your post first. I hope that you have some good news soon

AuntyViral · 25/04/2010 21:46

EggsandBacon · 26/04/2010 09:42

Hey guys,

I'm going back for a scan at the end of this week, I should be 7+3 when I go so I'm hoping it will be reassuring. Sure that if it is I'll just find something else to worry about.

I had a big crying temper tantrum last night as I imagined the scan being the same as the one for the mmc and how shit that would be.

And I was up in the night with really dodgy tummy - is it a bug, or is that what morning sickness feels like?? I thought morning sickness would be feeling a bit queasy like travel sickness, but this was my whole gut growling and upset.

Fingers crossed for everyone. AuntyV, are you going for another scan this week did you say?

xxxxxxx

DuelingFanjo · 26/04/2010 10:33

EggsandBacon you and I seem to be in the same situation too. I am having a scan on Thursday and will be 7 +3

I am really hoping the person who scans me isn't the same woman who scanned me when I had my MMC.

Not sure what morning sickness is supposed to feel like though, did you eat anything dodgy?

I had to get up twice for a pee in the night, I am really hoping it's a good sign but I just can't feel positive yet.

EggsandBacon · 26/04/2010 11:17

Hey Dueling - good luck for Thursday. I hope it all looks good and that I have an identical scan after you!!

I think it might be something I ate, I think my whole digestive system might be over sensitive at the moment. I'm just hoping that it all is ok when I have the scan!!

I keep reminding myself that loads of women have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies, and there's no reason that we shouldn't be one of them!!

Look at me with the burst of optimism on a Monday morning

largeginandtonic · 28/04/2010 21:02

Good luck for tomorrow

auntyviral · 30/04/2010 21:00

Eggs hoping it all went well for you today - let us know x
