This is my 2nd pregnancy and I hated the first one. This one is equally bad already, vomitting, bloating and general rubbishness!!! Worse this time as got a little 14 month old who doesn't understand why I'm not 100% myself.

Anyone else in the same boat, I feel very alone in this at the moment especially as it's the keeping it quiet stage! Just want to sleep!

Eating for 6 to stop the nausea!

Husband is great but would love to hear that I'm not alone...

You are not alone...I am 11 weeks and feel dreadful - just want to sleep all the time and am very moody. Really feel that I am not giving my best to dd who is 2.5, and the grumpiness is rubbing off on her. We are still trying to keep it quiet but getting very difficult at work as starting to show already - had to tell close family as needed the help!

Won't give you the platitudes of it will get better as after my first pregnancy I am not sure it will! Hope you feel better for getting it off your chest!

BearBear1981 · 07/04/2010 19:25

Thanks BackAgain!
It's annoying that the second pregnancy shows so much quicker. I had to tell some people at work today that I'm expecting as I do a relatively dangerous job and not fair for me not to tell them just in case something happens, and one of the girls said that she'd guessed already as my boobs looked bigger!!
I'm glad you are moody too and I totally sympathise with you not being able to give your all to little one.
I hope that your feeling dreadful subsides soon, nearly the magic 12 weeks for you. I've got til beginning of May til I'm out of the woods...
Onwards and upwards...

Can I join in the moan too??? I'm also 9 week (2nd pg) and feel absolutely hideous. And I look about 20 weeks pregnant. Poor DD, she's had to stay in today as I couldn't move without my mouth filling with saliva and the room swimming. Had a bit of bleeding over the weekend so am off to the EPAU in the morning - I still feel like crap though, which I am taking to be a good sign!

Hevster · 08/04/2010 06:38

14 weeks and still feel like crap - along with sickness, spots and looking like a fat munter the ultimate insult has arrived and I now have legs filled with fluid. Why did I convince myself that 2nd time round might be better? it's worse!

hope you girls have a good day today

mum2oneloudbaby · 08/04/2010 08:27

I had forgotten how crap I felt first time round and second time it's much worse. Probably because I can't convince myself that this will end soon as I kept doing with the first.

I'm 10 weeks eating like a horse in an attempt to stop feeling sick, clothes don't fit and can barely move without getting out of breath. And have had to give up the gym.

Like you manchester my 2.4 dd does not understand why mummy has not got the va va voom and to top it all it's half term and no groups or pre-school to distract her.

Already had to tell one friend because dd announced that mummy keeps being sick.

A good moan that's what we need, should be grateful that I have these problems really. Ho hum. Here's to a better day today.

Hevster · 08/04/2010 08:52

mum2oneloudbaby - my DD (2.6) gave the game away too! At least the sun is shining today (well it is in Wiltshire anyway!) and that always makes me a little more cheerful!

pinchmeimustbedreaming · 08/04/2010 09:40

im so happy you girls are here i am 11 weeks pg and its my 2nd pg i was the same with ds whos now 2.8. i know how you feel bearbear about the whol,e keeping it quiet stage. i dont really leave the house much as i look so rough. spots, nausea, bloating, moods and tiredness like never before in fact i fell asleep in my dinner the other night. dh and ds have been great but i feel so guilty as i am at home all day and it takes everything i have got to just make ds meals, nothing else. feels good to hear its not just me x

BearBear1981 · 08/04/2010 19:26

Wow, I'm so glad I started this thread. Glad I'm not the only one who feels dreadfully rubbish and pathetically tired and moody!!

I've resorted to sandwich and soup for supper, DH is such a star, I just can't face the smells of cooking. Even my mother is going to cook my food for dinner party next week and bring it to me and she lives 120 miles away!!!

mum2oneloudbaby... I know what you mean, last time was exciting but now I know I have til 2 or 4 Nov when I have a c-section (I have medical issues) til I'll be able to start moving forwards and not feeling like such a giant HEFFER!!!

I don't like those bloomin celebs who seem to breeze through it! It's just not on, surely they must be putting it on for the cameras and throwing up like good'uns like normal people.

But to end on a positive note... one day closer!!!!

OP posts:
pinchmeimustbedreaming · 09/04/2010 07:48

if you want celebs that felt rough try tess dalys book i havnt read it myself but iv heard she really had a hard time of it, it could be your guilty pleasure. not feeling too bad today but then mornings do tend to be better for me. got a day out today too so a cranky lil boy with no nap is on the cards yay!!!

mum2oneloudbaby · 09/04/2010 08:30

we had sun yesterday too. made it easier i sat in the garden while dd played with encouragement from the sidelines! Here's to more sunshine.

I was thinking rather than telling everybody after scan I would just let dd announce it as we gradually meet up with people

I think I'll look Tess Dalys book up my mum was on about it the other day.

Now I'm off to try and eat a without being sick

Threelittleducks · 09/04/2010 09:35

Me too me too!

I will be 9 weeks tomorrow with number 2 and I feel rubbish. It defo wasn't this bad last time - I am really suffering this time. Struggling with my lo too - he is 18 months and very active.
Slightly compounding problems by not being able to go to playgroup etc - as this is what normally lets off steam for him - so now he is one huge ball of energy. Cannot wait for the weekend when his daddy is off work!

LisaClapham · 09/04/2010 11:31

Oh, relief to find this thread. I am only 7 weeks, but feel dreadful. DS1 is only 17 months and am working full time too. The tiredness is crippling and I forgotton how awful the sickness is too. Stressed that I hadnt lost all the weight from 1st pregnancy so look big already - dreading what I am going to look like in a few weeks. It is so much worse this time - and having an extremely active toddler doen't make for much R&R.. roll on the weekend and some sunshine!!

xmelx · 09/04/2010 21:44

Hi sorry to crash your thread I am 9 weeks and feeling awful to my skin is disgusting I feel sick all the time and feel like something is stuck in my throat which is weird, I cant sleep well, feel so tired and like a real moaner my DH and family are great and understanding but I hate hate hate feeling like this...

BearBear1981 · 10/04/2010 14:56

LisaClapham, I know the stress about not losing the weight from last one, DD is 14 months and I planned to get 2 out the way in quick succession then get in shape afterwards. NO MORE AFTER THIS!!!!! I'm no skinny-mini (5ft 6 and size 10 normally) but I can't wait to not be in such big clothes. I got pregnant with DD1 on honeymoon so was the slimmest ever at size 8! Is it wrong to be selfish and just want to be normal again.
On a positive note, weather really helping me as can get lots of fresh air!! Much better... let's hope it lasts a few more weeks.
Keep going girls!!! Not meant to sound patronising but inspiring!!!

OP posts:
mum2oneloudbaby · 12/04/2010 08:13

xmelx know what you mean about something stuck in your throat I have that too. I think that's what makes me feel more sick.

Well we're back to normal here this week so at least I'll have playgroup, pre-school and gymnastics to burn off some of dd's energy.

BearBear I said exactly the same on Friday night NO MORE AFTER THIS!!! DD was at my mum's DH and I went out for dinner abandonned it after half an hour everything made me feel sick (how dare other people order things that make my stomach churn!)

Has anybody found any food they can stomach first thing in a morning (which is when I am at my worst) I'm running out of things to try

Hevster · 12/04/2010 08:29

mum2oneloudbaby crumpets worked ok for me for a bit, mine is worse in the afternoon and evenings!

Threelittleducks · 12/04/2010 09:21

I find that as long as I drink an Actimel to line my tum, all is good. After that I drink milk, which is filling. I'm totally struggling with much else. As long as I get something in me all is good.

mum2oneloudbaby · 12/04/2010 15:49

I'm the same Three so long as i can get some food in and keep it down i improve although i still get waves of nausea all day i can cope.

can't stomach milk though never have been able to but will try the crumpets hevster they sound tempting which is a good sign.

Hevster · 12/04/2010 17:24

oh, Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puddings stay down for me too and are not half as fattening as i had assumed!

jstock · 12/04/2010 19:37

Well, with my first pregnancy I felt a little bit tired and thought ooh this is bad (not to mention that the world was going to END because my husband used too much shower gel)

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and feel like I've had a bottle of sambuca every night, I actually fell asleep mid conversation with my in laws today, my head fell back and I did a ladylike snort, apologised and then went off to wee AGAIN!

Yet still praying we make it to the 12 week safety zone so that I can explain why I'm giving everyone one word answers, ignoring their calls at night(I say ignoring I mean sleeping through) and my DH can get the much needed support he needs while I become the tazmanian devil.

Completely different this time round!

Hope it eases up for you soon bear and you can start enjoying the bump

mum2oneloudbaby · 14/04/2010 09:01

Well Hevster so far so good the crumpets are working actually feeling a little human today.

Thanks for starting this thread BearBear hope you are doing well and there have been some good days.

Why did mother nature decide that because I'm pregnant I need a swimming pool in my mouth - has anybody actually ever drowned in their own saliva I wonder?

Threelittleducks · 14/04/2010 15:17

CRUMPETS!

You are a life-saver!xxx

BearBear1981 · 17/04/2010 17:43

morning food, apparently wheat bran is best as it also stops the trapped wind effect. Weetabix every morning while ignoring my poor DD desperate for her breakfast. Milk on its own is a shocker though for me!!

mum2oneloudbaby, I know what you mean about loads of saliva, worse this time. Does that mean a boy this time??!!

Booking appt on Monday then scans first week of May, at least some of those milestones are coming up and this sickness is nearing its end!!

Enjoy this weather!! Not that I get the chance as the weekend afternoons are my chance to sleep while DH looks after DD!!

OP posts:
wendyhappysmile · 18/04/2010 16:59

Hey girls, so many people feeling exactly like me! I am 8 weeks today I think, according to an early scan (had a bleed at 6.5 weeks). And guess what, this is my THIRD pregnancy, am I mad? I have a DS who is 5 and a DD who is 3. Both times the first 12 - 16 weeks were awful but then I sailed through the rest of the pg, so hoping this is the same!
I am at your BearBear as I am on a waiting list for my booking in appt!!! Who knows when I'll get one.

Bumperliouzzzzzz · 18/04/2010 17:56

I am at 18 weeks and feel pretty much the same. Fortunately the nausea went about 2 weeks ago, and that has really helped, but I am so frigging knackered. My body just seems to fall apart during pregnancy. This is my second too and I have a 2.7 year old.

While I felt sick I had the eating habits of a 7 year old, coco pops, monster munch, fizzy hariobo (fizzy sweets help a little). Fortunately I can now actually eat some vegetables and healthy stuff, though I can't stand any other food in the morning (DH makes my packed lunch).

BTW is anyone using travel sickness bands for sickness. They do take the edge off a little.
