Please let me rant - DP, DS and I are moving house on Friday and I'm 39 weeks pregnant. I just have to let out some stress!

There's so much still to do and I have so little physical energy to do it with.... Insomnia/constant weeing means that I'm only sleeping for around 3 hours per night, and everything aches but especially my bump. Am also getting lots of BH.

Actually, I have loads to be thankful about. DS (2.5) is with his lovely childminder for the rest of this week. Our vendors are equally lovely, and have been great about letting us bring DS to the house loads so he can start to get used to it and so should be less unsettled. The removal people are doing all the packing tomorrow (luxury) and DP's parents are coming to stay on Friday to help out. Best of all, it's the home of our dreams.

On the downside, BT are being absolute arses for reasons best known only to themselves, about half the furniture in our current(rented) house belongs to our landlady so needs to separated out from our furntiture today so the removal people don't accidentally take it away, I can't get registered with a GP or midwife in our new town until next week and I have no-one in our new town to look after DS when I go into labour (which might be a real issue because my labour with him was less than 3 hours and it will take DP's parents at least that long to get to us once we call them to say that we need to them to be with him).

Wish us luck! Any tips?

Ooh good luck! We moved house at 39 weeks and baby came 5 days later..I was expecting her to be late so not sure if move brought it forward or if she was just punctual but I suspect the former!
I found sitting on my swiss ball at the front door directing the removal men was the most comfortable thing to do. That and just let everyone unpack/sort things for you, plenty(well some anyway!) of time later on to rearrange all the cupboards how you like them...

My friend moved house when overdue (move was meant to happen a bit sooner ) and ended up being induced in old hospital. All went well with her move as well

You have my sympathy. I have managed to avoid moving when pg, but, last time we did it, the evening before, I fell over and rebroke my already broken (and just starting to mend with no cast on it) upper right arm! After spending the night in casualty, I could do nothing. We were only half packed, and if we hadnt already hired movers, we would have been stuffed! My boss popped by to see me, and found me sitting on the spare room floor, clutching the dog, and sobbing my heart out whilst rocking gently! Take my advice, label everything in advance, and get out of there. Leave the movers to it, it is their job, they will be fine, your husband can hold the fort. Go spend the day with friends, or have a gentle day shopping. Stress will not do you any good, and if you are there, being stressed, it will spread to others and make the day harder for everyone else.

CinnabarRed! You can't post this and then just disappear! Did you move? Did the baby arrive? Are you, as I type, unpacking with one hand and holding a newborn with the other?
