Pregnancy revelations - is Facebook too crass?

I am 16 wks with DC2. With DS I sent a round robin email to everyone i knew and spilt the beans that way. But that was because I was very excited and also overseas at the time.
This time, I have told a number of friends and family face-to-face but that still leaves a large number of friends-i-don't-see-that-often and acquaintances...is it crass to do a facebook announcement (it feels a bit impersonal and, well, teenagey!)...
But i feel awkward about just not saying anything, especially if i end up seeing them after the baby's out or want to do a 'meet the new baby' announcement! They might be thinking, why didn't she tell me she was pregnant? WWYD?

I put 'is up the duff' as my status at the appropriate point last year. And subsequently spoke of eating hobnobs a lot for the next few months.

I put 'is looking forward to the best meal in the world - tea and toast, sometime in July'.

Cryptic, but a few people got it and then word seemed to spread.

I announced mine on FB a few days after the first scan and after all the family and close friends knew.

My status was " Just saw baby number 2". Most twigged straight away and I got lovely comments. Then i added a pic.

My status's now are more like "is fat, fed up and wants baby out!"

I used facebook to tell friends and family, i put a scan picture up, im now 16wks, and have to update mates and friends, overseas, xx

I am 23w, haven't announced it on FB and don't intend to (even though a lot of friends/fam are overseas), but don't see any problem with it, once you're out of the danger zone.

Hi, I did only to my friends on face book at 15 weeks. After my family knew of course! x x

I put my scan picture up on FB at 14 weeks without saying anything. I had already told everyone I wanted to tell personally anyway. I got tons of likes and comments straight away! Then more when I added the 20-week scan picture...

I've been really hesitant to put mine up...I'm 14 weeks but keep thinking that I'll jinx it if I post on fb too early! I know it's stupid of me, and I should just post...

I'd probably write something like, "I can't stop eating donuts and ice cream...and pickles!" Or maybe that isn't obvious enough?

I'm also afraid not many people will comment, as most friends on there are far away ( I just moved) and don't have that many to begin with ...so, if any of you nice ladies would like to be my facebook friend, I'd appreciate it...then I could at least be sure to get more comments on my first pregnancy post!!!
