Pulled stomach muscles - can I do anything to make them feel better more quickly?

Bit of background - I'm recently separated from my H, 30 weeks pregnant with a 2yo DS. H has him 3 nights and 1 day a week so I do get a break.

As a result of all these changes, worry about the new baby and coping on my own day-to-day, a bit of nesting and a lease of life / energy from being on ADs, I've recently been going a bit nuts cleaning and decluttering. This weekend I did tons of stuff, including some gardening yesterday and last night my tummy muscles started aching. I slept really poorly and have had real trouble sitting up / rolling over. My bump feels really heavy and uncomfortable like its stretching those muscles and I'm generally really uncomfortable. I figured the only thing I could do was rest, so I have been doing that today while H had DS and I'm going crazy!

The baby is still wriggling around regularly so I'm not worried about it at the moment, but I am worried about how I am going to deal with my massive toddler tomorrow if I'm not feeling better in the morning.

Should I go to the GP / midwife tomorrow? Is there anything else I can do to help my muscles?

TIA!

Poor you! Loads going on. And congrats on pregnancy!

I thought I had pulled a stomach muscle but apparently was baby in an odd position trapping a nerve - could this be you?

Advice pretty much the same as bookgalore abovem,m except they added keep moving to get the baby to change position.

Also I was warned very strongly not to use stomach muscles if at all possible and to be very careful after the birth not to do normal sit-ups and crunches to strengthen muscles but rather Pilates and Tupler technique.

Good luck. Hope you feel better.

I keep doing too much and getting sore stomach muscles, 28 weeks and work with horses so its hard not to do things. The only thing I find helps is a bath, nothing hurts whilst in the bath which is the only time. I usaually feel better after a rest day but don't notice it until the day after.

thanks all. I am coping well but there's nobody around to tell me not to lift something - or to ask to do it if I think its too much

Today I have tried to take it easy but not managed entirely (not possible with a toddler I think) and now the muscles in my back ache when I breathe!

I think I'll go to the docs if I keep suffering because I can't do less than I did today!
